It was tough at first, because like many other...you want the best to go out on top. You want to see Jordan vs. the Jazz - not struggling to dunk in a Wizards uniform.

But sometimes you just have to appreciate greatness and understand that it's earned to go out how you want to go out.

It's still tough for me to watch him struggle, but it's nice to know he's doing what he wants to do and everyone is aware of the struggles.

I don't know the severity of his condition, but several people I know that have had strokes have had their lives go completely downhill afterward. Wheather it was lack of support, lack of motivation or other barriers, they just couldn't continue life in any way that resembled theirs before the stroke. But Corso is still able to do something he loves and cares about. And in the public eye, no less. Granted, he is probably able to afford better care than many do, but it's still encouraging to see that he can go on TV on a weekly basis.

But Herbstreit seems like a good dude. Really helps along Corso and seems super patient with him. Hands down the best sports panel around and I like seeing Corso there even though he isn't 100%. Makes it more personal watching them all like a family.

At one point in the 3rd last night, 21-20, Herby said that IU probably has the best QB/WR group that OSU will play all year.  I'm hoping I missed some supporting context, because I flipped over to check the score and caugh that.  I listened in disbelief for a few minutes more, and I'm pretty sure he meant what he said about IU.  Unfuckingbelievable!  That takes being a homer to a new, and awesome, level...

On paper, right now who is definitively better? Oklahoma? IU isn't great but their QB is average and their WRs are really damn good. Baker Mayfield is the reason I would say OU and I don't even know what they have at WR. Trace McSorley is good but I couldn't name a PSU WR either.

100% right! I had to call out an Ohio state friend of mine (military friends, that bond goes deeper than college sports). No one before last night or even this morning could name both that WR and QB on Indiana without the help of Google. No one! don't lie to me and tell me you could.

Like I said, in order to compromise and cope with him not being at 100%, I think they should have him on only for the last half hour of the show to do one segment and then make all the picks.

I've also said this for 3 years or so. Let him open the show and bring on Pollack at the 1st commercial. Let him close the show. That said, I really don't care anymore. It's not about me or how comfortable I am watching and you know, I know, and ESPN knows I'm not going to cut it off just because it makes me uncomfortable.

For such a long time. He deserves respect for all the years he has entertained us. The rest of the crew is treating him as a valued elder statesman, which is great of them.

Think he's great. He even had a nice little stint in the booth tonight.

I met him in the stadium concourse in the mid-90s (might have been the 1994 Penn State game?), he was just walking around before the game. Couldn't have been nicer. Took a picture, chatted for a minute, gave us a Go Blue, the whole deal. Nothing but respect for the guy.

''This job is like stealing. I travel first class in a nice plane. I have a driver waiting for me. I go in a room and have room service. I have a meeting. Then I go to the best game of the weekend and talk football - and they pay me. You gotta be kidding me,'' Corso said. ''Why the hell would I leave something like this?''

Love this. Sounds like the greatest retirement on earth.

I think he is fine on Gameday where there is some level of rehearsal (I'm guessing?). He was pretty rough when he stopped by the booth last night during IU/OSU when he had to react on the fly.
