Congrats Michigan

I can't here you.

Max is the real deal, the best of the Bulloughs, and the youngest one will not play at MSU (I've seen them all play).

The world honestly needs more fans like this and less like the one who I saw get pummeled after doing something extremely stupid...
Basketball will be fun this year.

Awww, your emoticon makes your douchebaggery cute! Have fun trying to rationalize your loss. Get ready for more.

Play nice
October 20th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
...the win and show some class. That game came down to the wire; a jock-knocking classic. Well played Sparty.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:05 PM ^
Everyone needs to chill the eff out. It's only gunna get more difficult from here. You really think next year will be easier?l Toss up at best. Michigan will be lucky to stay even where they are now without denard next year.
Be happy with what you have. Not what you want...
October 20th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
once he is gone, borges can go all into to the new system. Don't get me wrong, I love denard, but the fit with Borges is suboptimal to say the least. The o-line and wr's add more talent than now and the rb's and tight end will only improve. not sure how it gets more difficult when the #spartandawgs will continue to fall behind in recruiting and have ol' crabby snaggleteeth as their coach. if they don't make a bowl this year, pressure on dan7onio will only increase.

Why does this anger so many Michigan fans? No need to kick the dude for offering up some kudos
October 20th, 2012 at 10:09 PM ^
I'm in the "no need to be a dick to this guy" camp.
For what it's worth, I was impressed by how cleanly both teams played today. Maybe the personal foul on Lewan scared everyone (that the refs would be quick with flags), but I thought that was totally clean, physical football.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
You call 68-32 relevant, your expectations sure are low.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
It was a good game, and fun to watch. Both teams played hard and clean. Looked a lot like the Big 10 football I have always loved. Good luck with the rest of your games.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:58 PM ^
That was not fun to watch.
October 21st, 2012 at 6:09 AM ^
Game winning field goal at the end was fun to watch for me. The crowd seemed to like it too. For me, the number of points doesn't make the game any more fun. But then again, I like hockey and soccer.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:27 PM ^
This rivalry is only relevant as it is, to me, because of the behavior of your fanbase the past few years. Once the buzzing of you mosquitos completely dies down I'll stop wanting to swat you.

my man.
October 21st, 2012 at 7:25 AM ^
This is exactly what I've been trying to say for the past few years but I could never find the right words.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
Takes guys to post as an opposing fan after a hard fought game. Kudos to you, man.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
I saw no sarcasm in the OP ... on the contrary, my first reaction was it was a classy, gracious act. That's an increasingly rare thing in this day and age ... it seems we should applaud it rather than condemn it.
As for the use of the word relevant ... that could just as easily be an admission that MSU didn't dominate relatively recently (before past four years) as it could be a comment on Michigan's play these last four. And let's face it ... the game was damn competitive.
Truth is, it does the Big 10 and the state of Michigan good to have these two teams competitive. A B1G with four or five teams really in the mix any given year serve the conference well. Of course, so too will some bowl wins ... but that's another discussion.
October 20th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
how to figure this out;
can anyone tell me how to vote on a forum topic OP?
October 20th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
If you're logged on, you should see a little green triangle up and a red triangle down in the OP section. Numbers for votes up or down should be present. Click on the triangles to register your vote.

I saw them, but I thought they were just images there to explain the vote totals.

Go Blue!!!
October 20th, 2012 at 11:07 PM ^
Spartans played a tough, clean, hard-fought game. Both teams left it all out on the field. As much as I can't stand Dantonio, he really knows how to get his team up for this game. This is how the rivalry was meant to be played.
Can't wait till the next one. GO BLUE.
October 20th, 2012 at 11:10 PM ^
Thanks so much. It was a stressful game but very well played on both sides. Very glad to see limited injuries and personal fouls. Good win for the program but the season is not over for either team still a lot more to be done.
Looking forward to the basketball games.
Have a great night everyone and be safe.
October 20th, 2012 at 11:11 PM ^
But if I were you, I would want your OC fired tomorrow. Guy is just brutal.
October 20th, 2012 at 11:17 PM ^
I dunno. The most frustrating thing to deal with for an OC is an inconsistent QB.
October 20th, 2012 at 11:26 PM ^
Thanks SpartanFan123. See you next year.
October 20th, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
The way his statement is worded, or more to the point, punctuated, can explain the angry replies. That is, the statement reads as "oh, you finally won after five years, now the rivalry is relevant", as in, MSU was so much better in the last four, that it wasn't even a rivalry.
Now, if you take out the period, it reads as "hey, it's great that all the games will be hard fought, in football and basketball." This, of course, is a fair statement.
Hopefully, this is how the OP meant things. If not, it's damning with faint praise.

In Defeat: Defiance
Let us be magnanimous!

Matt Wile's 48 yard field goal. I don't remember the last time we made a field goal of that distance...
October 21st, 2012 at 2:50 AM ^
Your post is about as genuine as someone telling me I look good... for my age. As in, relevant NOW? If you look up "Relevant" in the dictionary you can see a Sparty fan regarding the Michigan game.
October 21st, 2012 at 4:42 AM ^
the six years prior to your four game win streak, you were completely irrelevant? Shit, you really didn't have to visit this site to make us aware. Irrelevant, huh? We just became the first team to win 900 cfb games, and the trivia question will be, "Which Big Ten team did Michigan beat to accomplish this feat? You know the answer.. We have no intentions of joining the Ivy League. We took a vote and decide to stick around a bit. Actually LMFAO more I think of this post. A Sparty informing us we were relevent again. Damn, having a fan of such a traditional power makes me feel so damn special. Where the fuck were you last year when we were in the BCS bowl game? Even when we're down, we're up your ass. That's gotta sting.
Try,try, try as hard as you will. I don't even dislike Sparty. Your coach, however, is a narcissistic ass and the only two times he's smiled during the past three years is when he called the fake fg against ND and the fake punt tonight, both plays that reflected directly upon him. Thanks for the welcome back. I would have thought that would have come last year while we were preparing for Va. Tech.

and help your big brother out
October 21st, 2012 at 8:40 AM ^
This game is only a rivalry for me from the standpoint that I had to listen to so many Sparties talk crap when they beat Michigan for the past 4 years. I also had to listen to them talk crap when Michigan lost to any other team. In fact, I had to deal with them being happy on days when they lost to their opponent and Michigan lost too. Winning the game yesterday gave me a feeling of relief, not joy. Beating "little brother" is expected to me and not celebrated. It was a relief to break the losing streak yesterday to end that embarrassing 4 year streak. Now Sparties everywhere can get a dose of reality about how "relevant" their program is. I do have to admit that I am somewhat embarrassed that our student section ran on the field after this game. I understand that it was a climactic ending and all but to me...rushing the field after beating Sparty is expected and certainly no reason to run on the field.
October 21st, 2012 at 9:47 AM ^
In the recent past, it's pretty clearly a rivalry. Once we got another decade down with something like an 8-2 record against them, we can go back to confident assurance it isn't.

Hey at least the OP, offered congratulations. Has anyone ventured over to RCMB yet? I can only the imagine the vitriol being tossed around over there.
October 21st, 2012 at 12:16 PM ^
UM is now 1-4 against MSU in the past 5 games. A fan comes here, makes a slight dig seemingly pointed at the fact that the "rivalry" now means something to UM fans because they won - and don't act like there haven't been UM fans who have knocked this game for the past 4 years - and has a good attitude about it. Then a bunch of people are posting "oh yeah, suck it you loser" and "derp GTFO derp derp" while at the same time pumping up this site as "better" than RCMB or other fans' sites.
UM won on a last-second FG in a heated game. A play here or there and UM would have lost. I know this doesn't apply to anyone here, but act like you've been there before and accept the congrats, the slight dig, and move on.

Thank you for the words of congratulation. Great game all around!
Oh, and thanks for babysitting Paul. We hope he wasn't too much trouble staying with you while we were remodelling his room. But Paulie (when you've known Mr. Bunyan for as long as we have, you can call him that, too) is back home where he belongs, and all is right in the world.
I sincerely hope that Michigan State stays very good, performs well in the rankings, and remains always a field goal worse than Michigan.
Forever and ever, amen. :)
One last thing: in all seriousness, my youngest child wanted to know why you guys were dressed as Christmas ornaments when we hadn't even had Halloween yet. So you might want to do something about that next year!
