Confirmed position coaching changes?

Submitted by karpodiem on

In a different thread, someone posted they didn't know that Dan Enos is now on the staff for 2018 until today. Is this accurate?

What other staff changes are 'confirmed', or is Enos addition to the staff inaccurate? Sorry if this thread is deemed redundant, but this seems rather newsworthy and I wasn't able to locate a dedicated thread on this topic.

I believe umbig11 alluded to some wholesale changes possibly coming down in another thread, but there were no specifics. The Enos thing has been tossed around for a few weeks now, I believe, so I guess we'll see where that goes. Not wholly thrilling by itself, but if this is going to be what Jim seems to want, maybe that in a combination of other changes is what works. I guess "Watch this space" in the next weeks / months, right?

I don't care what it takes or who you have to call: just find someone who can coach the offense. Or simplify what you currently have if you have to. Whatever you're currently doing is not working.

I hope he fires his son.  Nepotism can be tolerated when the program is successful, but now it is time for Jay to make it on his own.  He is 28 and after working for his father's former NFL coach, his uncle, and now his dad it is time he earns a job outside his family's sphere of influence.  Or hell, it can be in his family's sphere of influence just not at Michigan.  The fact that he makes 60k more than Bonnie Tholl disgusts me.

The group that he coaches was the one bright spot on the offense this year.  He is 1 of 2 offensive coaches that grinds on the recruiting trail.  I don't understand why everyone wants Jay gone.  The problems with the offense are bigger than a RB coach.

Personally I would like to see us hire an OC that isn't an OL coach.  Offensive line is one of the most difficult position groups to develop so I think your OL coach's focus should be stricktly on the Oline. I think this is the reason that we brought Frey in, to take some of the Oline off of Drevno's plate.

Dan Enos destroyed CMU. They are still trying to emerge from the ashes. Fans hated him. His nickname quickly became Spartan Dan. Do we really want Spartan Dan? I know Jim and Drevno are buddies but I think he really needs to only coach the line. He was good doing just that. Bring in Azzanni to coach our talented wide receivers. Pep...meh...

Reports show he's on FSU campus today. Everything pointing to him leaving after 1 year. Hopefully this makes Drevno O-line coach only, and we get someone as O Coordinator. Time will tell.

see as a fan next year is some cohesion and creativity. That’s about it. Whoever they bring in who can do that I’ll welcome. I would really like to see games in which we could put up nearly 400-500 yards in a game, with a 150+ yard rusher/rushers, and maybe 300 passing yards or close to that. In all the games I’ve watched as a fan, it’s been few and far in between games like those. Last year we put up 35 points a game almost every game, I’d like to see that again. I know what I’m saying is unreasonable but in my opinion, performances like that from the offense is what would level them out with the defense. Elite teams across the country have been able to do these things and that’s why they are successful.
