it's in Wisconsin. I mean, I don't think moving certain games to nuetral, historically significant venues is all that new of a thing after Notre Dame's world tour and Yankee Stadium/Wrigley Field games.  I think this is just another angle on that.

I think those are stupid too. We only get 7 (or 8 like this year) chances to see games in our favorite team's stadium in a year and those type of things take one away. If we did something like this I'd be pissed. We lost one home game in 2012 because of the stupid Dallas neutral site game.

The UF game makes more sense - I get it when they aren't home and homes, only takes 1 opening on the calendar, doesn't give the either team huge home field advantage, and allows the chance to play a great team early in the year.

But when its Houston/Lambeau, it may as well have been home and home. That part I don't get.

I'd rather watch it on tv than not at all. And if both teams don't have 2 openings, it won't happen. Plus, those early games really get the ball rolling in terms of rankings, which can make up for a stumble (ie you get the benefit of the doubt more than beating up on bowling green). I know the argument is we are Michigan, take care of your business and you're fine, but its nice to have a little extra insurance.

Of course, the flip side is you risk an early season loss before the team has time to gel, ala Utah.

I know home games are ideal, but some people can actually watch the game more easily in Dallas than AA. Plus, I'm going to really enjoy the MSU game this year, even though I won't be there :)

It also helps exposure in the state of TX.

I believe when this series was being negotiated, LSU did not want to play at Camp Randall where very few LSU fans would be in attendence. Wisconsin will still have a big advantage in Green Bay but there will be a sizeable LSU contingent there.

Most of the SEC does not play true away games North of the Mason Dixon line and seldom outsinde of the SEC footprint..  SInce 1980 Alabama has played eight games ina stadium outside of the SEC territory.

1980 Rutgers  W

1983 PSU        L

1984 Cinci       W  (didn't have to go too far outside of the SEC for that one)

1987  ND        L

1989  PSU      W

2000  UCLA     L

2002 Oklahoma L

2011 PSU        W

And Alabama is one of the better ones.  Five games in thirty years.  They are too busy playing the Citadel and other southern powerhouses.  They prefer a home and neutral.

That's not a brutal schedule.

That's a tough stretch in the B1G + a home game versus LSU.

How many times we've had a tough B1G stretch + one tough non-conference game?

Just because Iowa had a cakewalk doesn't mean that's the norm...this schedule above does nothing for me. It's how it should be minus 3 of 4 in your tough stretch on the road...but they do get a BYE week in there so that helps.

How do we know Iowa is going to be great again? I feel like they've been more inconsistent than even Michigan has been in the past 10 years.

I still have to do a double take seeing Wisconsin listed as playing a big time opponent in non-conference after the 3 straight decades of playing the likes of Western Kentucky, Wofford and the Citadel.

I remember a few years ago, someone on rivals.com added up the record of every non-conference team they played from 1990 to 2013 and they had a combined 29% winning percentage.
