College football crime report - Feb. 12

Submitted by Alaska Hokie on

Here's a roundup of notable arrests and incidents related to college football during the past week. Some of these are not eligible for the Fulmer Cup, but nonetheless might be interesting to you, the informed college football reader. Be warned: Some of these may be somewhat grim.

I dont know why, but I feel wrong about reading all of these. I got caught doing some stupid things in college, everyone does once in a while. These kids don't need to be addressed to the world like a Pro Player.

the full article you link to actually says:

The university’s mandatory disclosure policy was first revamped in August, in the wake of the death of lacrosse player Yeardley Love. The policy now forces students to declare if they’ve had any arrests or convictions each year before signing on to a university computer system. The man charged in Love’s death, fellow student and lacrosse player George Huguely, had been arrested in late 2008 after reportedly threatening the life of a Lexington police patrolwoman, but UVa officials didn’t learn of that incident until after he had been arrested in connection with Love’s death.

Where's the damn Fulmer Cup standings chart?  A crime blotter should never be poster without a updated chart!  Shouldn't every post have a chart anyway?

pedophile on the same list as the  college football players? I know legally that those kids are to be tried as adults but Jeremy Green is a whole 'nother level of sicko. I wish I had not clicked on the link. I want to take a shower now, so thanks a lot.

If you check out the Washington Post story on the UVa incident, found here, you'll be struck by the particular misdemeanor charge:

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Ausar Walcott, sophomore cornerback Devin Wallace and sophomore center Mike Price each face three misdemeanor charges of assault and battery by mob and one felony charge of burglary-entering a dwelling with the intent to commit an assault.

So, do we not have such a charge available here in Michigan for our friends in E. Lansing?

CLEVELAND -- Authorities say Ohio State football recruit Chris Carter won't face criminal charges stemming from his arrest last week on an allegation that he fondled a girl while pretending to measure her for an ROTC uniform.

The poor kid has been exposed, i thought minors were protected from publications with first and last names? I guess not.
