Social media gives voice to people and ideas that have no business having a voice. Social media is directly responsible for many of the current ills in our political climate. I have never been and never will be a part of the social media cesspool.

Concentrating on the bad behavior of one lone fan and making generalizations about their entire fanbase is neither fair nor reasonable. We have many classless fans of our own who could have their behavior pointed to and unfairly besmirch our names, as well.
That's not to say that bad fanbases in general don't exist, of course (SEE: Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M), but lone cases don't necessarily move the needle on that judgment being made. There are plenty of extremely valid reasons to hate Penn State, such as their coach being a scumbag with no class or sportsmanship or their quarterback being a spoiled cocksure jerk or their institution being built on the back of putting football above all else, including the systemic abuse of children, but one instance of a fan being scummy isn't a reason.

Meh, every fanbase has assholes. Ours included. I'm sure plenty of level-headed PSU fans (did I just say that?) would call this guy a douche. I'd feel the same if a Michigan fan tweeted at McSorely and wished that Hurst had ripped his head off.
I'm guessing plenty of Michigan fans trolled PSU big time after last year's beatdown. Can't say it wasn't expected.
