Florida's last 3 home games this year...

Beat (4-8) Vanderbilt 9-7.

Beat (2-9) Florida Atlantic IN OVERTIME 20-14

Lost to Florida State 27-2

If their offense wants to continue putting up those type of numbers, that would be fine with me.

A Citrus Bowl win over Florida was our final win prior to enterring the Dark Age, so it is only fitting that we cap our first seaon out of the Dark Age with another Citrus Bowl win over Florida.

Last year the matchups were AWFUL. Ole Miss/TCU and MSU/Baylor seemed like nice matchups...everything else wasn't even intriguing. Not that there weren't good games. But there wasn't anything that made me go...OH THAT'S A MUST WATCH!!

Wait...

A team with poor quarterback play, a great defense, an offensive system in which runs they run zone read spread option, and we think we are heavy favorites?

I've seen this movie before.

Well, someone at work was discussing the rental of a condo near the Citrus Bowl should that be the destination, and as it turns out that this is now the case, what I am seeing is a good opportunity for an offsite where we talk about work stuff like teamwork and accountability and we use the game as a living example. Yeah, that's it.

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about this match-up. My first blush impression is to say this will be the toughest defense Michigan will have faced this season. I believe they are elite on every level (DL, LB, DB) and they might have as many 6 1st round picks. That's not my opinion but one of a NFL scout that I know. My opinion of their defense is from personal experience. I've watched them practice and play in person. I've even watched film with their head coach and players. Hargreaves will be the best DB by far we will have seen this season. Their offense has been very poor the second half of the season. The numbers are very clear on that. My concern is that will not be the offense we will see in the bowl game. Take a moment and look at the numbers that team put up under Will Grier earlier this year. No Harris will not turn into Grier. Harris lacks the size and mental ability to perform this offense as currently designed. Having been on campus and watched Harris I believe the offense could change drastically to fit his skill set. What Harris does do well however is throw the ball deep. Florida will test one-on-one battles down field all game long and Florida has a freshman WR of their own that is very very explosive. I'm not sure how I feel on this game but I do believe this is going to a huge test for Michigan. I might be in Gainesville again for the 7th time since the summer 2014, if I am I'll pass more along.

This game will be tough...Florida has a horrible offense but they are quick on defense and have great CB play in the secondary. We have to be 100% healthy on our defense line to beat them. We gotta stop the run, its been killing us since the Indiana game. We can win this game, but stopping the run game will be key in doing so. GO BLUE!
