Knight was kissing Tressel's ass without knowing any facts. He didn't even know that Tressel had lied to the NCAA. I have absolutely no respect for Knight when he talks about anything but bassketball X's and O's.
He thinks there is still more punishment to come Tressel's way and that he would have handled the press conference last night a bit differently.
I know he is a Buckeye, but he is one of my all-time favorite Lions.
I thought he was dead on with his comments on accepting responsibility for the mistake that Vest made. Which in my opinion Tressel did not nearly do enough. I thought the way he way laying out sob stories in the beginning of his statement was bullshit.
Tressel was pure politician in that press conference. He told everything while saying nothing. He sounded like a senator that got caught having an affair. I dont get his public perception.
Why is everyone acting like they're so schocked, and that this is the first thing that Tressel have ever done?? This is the same story at YSU, then Clarret, his light punishment for Robert Reynolds, giving Ray Small 10 second chances, handing down ZERO suspension to Alex Boone or Doug Worthington for their DUIs, and lets not even lie to ourselves that Pryor's recruitment was on the up and up, or Pryor's free loaner cars that he's allowed to test drive to PA. Tressel is just like everyone else, but he's teflon Jim.
With his track record preceding this latest revelation, what would Tressel's reputation be if his last name had four syllables and ended in a vowel and he had longer slicked back hair and instead of a sweater vest wore expensive suits like, say, John Calipari?
what Justin Boren meant by "family values." He meant he wanted to be allowed to do whatever he wanted when he wanted to do it. Although most of us here probably already had that one figured.
