Sources told me that Michigan assistant Chris Partridge was offered a linebacker coaching position at Alabama, but Partridge decided against taking the job and is turning down the offer. A source said more offers might be on the table for Partridge,... https://t.co/4dsaB7tD4w

I heard from a well-connected source in Michigan's football program that Charlotte (C-USA) was mulling offering Partridge their HC job but ended up keeping Brad Lambert.

There is a reason Saban wants him. That reason is because of his recruiting... not that Alabama needs help there, but it weakens Michigan with what Partridge has done in the south. He's been loyal to Harbaugh, so let's hope it stays that way.

CP has proven he's much more than a liaison between AA and his old h.s. As OP stated, he has recruited well all over and although all top coaches are aware of it, Nick is the one who, while always looking to make his squad better, assesses what is going on with those coaches he feels are legit - and Harbaubh falls into that category - and what he can do to hurt him.  I am not certain you could hurt him more than by taking away his top recruiter. The man connects with kids from every area of the country and he sure in the hell has a resume.

Further, based on what he's said in the past, his future in cfb is "what Coach Harbaugh says it is." In other words if someone comes a knocking with a legitimate offer, one that would be ill-advised to turn down from a long-term financial standpoint, I think Harbaugh would probably be forced to pay him what he realistically can to keep him. He simply keeps proving himself. The man is only going to continue to get better as both a recruiter and a coach. Keep Chris Partridge are probably the three words immediately following his name on his cover sheet in his file.

Hope he stays, but if he doesn't then best of luck to him! Not sure if he is qualified to be a DC yet, but if he is then it is what it is. I'm sure at least part of the allure to work under Harbaugh is the visibility and real shot at advancement.

Partridge seems to have a lot of potential in the coaching profession, so I am glad that he is staying.  He believes that he is in the best place for him to learn and develop as a coach.

THEY said we only wanted Partridge so we could get some high touted kids from NJ and that what Harbaugh did was dirty and now THEY want him to coach on their staffs, funny! I love how the SEC is the first to point their dirty fingers at other schools for doing something they deem dirty and they know about dirty. The dude can coach and Harbaugh saw it so eat it Bama
