Chris Clark committed to M but taking officials

Submitted by dnak438 on

I'm Committed to michigan but just like everyone else I will take my officials visits this is based off of everything going at at michigan

Can't say that I blame him. Let's hope that we can keep him committed in the coming months.

But I'm not committed.

At this point, we don't have a recruiting class until we have a new coach. We have a bunch of guys who MAY be interested depending on who we hire.

You can't blame a TE, you could hire a Rich Rod type (Helfrich or another spread coach) who doesn't use the TE very much, or at least not how Clark wants to be used.

You commit to a system too. A coaches system. So you do commit in part to a head coach and the way he runs a program. You don't commit to a campus or your major, or Bo Schembchler's Michigan. You commit to the current way a program operates in relation to your position, skill set, and future goals.

i cannot understand why anyone would commit to michigan at this point. the team is in shambles and noone knows if Hoke will be retained or not. Why not just wait to see how it pans out. For us however this recruiting class may turn out to be the worst in the last 30 years. the longer Hoke is still the HC the more recruiting will take a hit

Suddenly, the recruiting policy of a commit not taking visits has changed. There's good reason, too: we would have lost a much higher number of commits by now. Way to save face, coaching staff.

if he does truley love michigan than he may still commit but how can u expect him to make a decision when he doesnt even know who his hc will be? Cant blame the kid. The athletic department needs to make a decision now. Either endorse Brady (all hell breaks loose) or fire him and let him coach the rest of the year.

I do not understand how hoke is still the head coach of this team. The results speak for themselves. I truly believe change needs to happen immediately. Failure is not an option at Michigan.

We have recruited well since the 70s. A fucking ape could pull 5 stars. I have been to many games and campuses, multiple SEC , Washington, multiple in California, and we have by far the best stadium and campus combo and it isn't close. Gainesville is the most intimidating as the seats are almost straight up and over 110 every game on the field. F Hoke!

like J-Butt.  Obviously, if the Nuss-O cannot get it together, this could get Really Bad.

Fortunately-  J-Butt caught a couple of passes, I think it was  . . .

I can't imagine how hard this is for the recruits. Even if Hoke is fired today, we won't know who the next coach will be until December or January. By January, it might be too late for some of the kids to find a place in another class if they don't want to play for the new head coach. They really are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Some of the kids have said they're coming here no matter what, but I can see why not all of the kids can say that.

We are in a very rare situation here where the coach is a lame duck in early October.  Even Rich Rod or Muschamp or those type of situations you string that along all year and the writing on the wall is apparent in week 11-12...

This was week 5.  So instead of trying to keep commits around for a month while the AD scrambles to fire and hire someone new this is going to be 2 months just of football season + whatever duration of time to find a new coach.  And a new AD is potentially thrown into the mix which may extend the time to find a new coach.

This is a very rare situation to have your coach be toast before leaves even begin to turn.  It is very bad.

There is ZERO reason to keep Hoke around with this years small recruiting class size. It actually makes sense to fire him and take your losses so the new coach has some room to get his guys.

I am somewhat kidding, but honestly it is only bad news until we get a new coach. I want to go to sleep until December and then see who is our coach. If we get a similar style of system (not LC to RR) then we can retain some guys and maybe get lucky on one or too, but we are going to really miss roseboro and klc because we will not have a pass rush for a couple years.

I saw someone retweet something by Kinnel after the loss that said something like, got a lot think about regarding my future (implied). So there's another commit going to be looking around. Hopefully cooler heads and hearts prevail. Definitely need him after last nights performance.

You'll get a good education here, but if want to play football we'll lose a lot and not develop you at all. Go to Notre Dame where all their TEs are inexplicably awesome

This is why they need to take action ASAP.  At the very least, fire David Brandon right now.  The sooner things begin to be resolved, the better chance they have of salvaging what is shaping up to be yet another terrible recruiting year.

Will Hoke even recruit anymore during the season? What the hell can he say?

"Uhmm well umm come to Michigan even though I uhh you know won't be here"?
