I need some tickets/Big House advice. I am hoping to fly in from Oregon to attend the PSU game this year but I have only been to the Big House one time (years ago to watch Drew Henson defeat PSU) and I wasn't involved in the ticket acquisition. Are there general admission areas or is it all assigned seat tickets? I am going to try to buy 4 tickets and it'd be great to not have to worry about sequenced seats. Also, does anyone have a ballpark figure on what I'd probably pay for 4 tickets (cheap seats, not rich people 50 yardline stuff)? Any help would be appreciated, I understand that tickets aren't on sale yet but I just need to begin preliminary planning on this thing to ensure that it actually happens.

I would guess the tickets for PSU will be around $60 per ticket. There is no General Admission. All assigned seats. The ticket prices dont change depending on seat location if you buy them through the athletic department and dont scalp them.

Roughly 90% of all seats in the Big House are sold to season ticket holders. Season ticket holders and other groups (Victors Club, Alum Assoc, etc.) also get some priority on the leftovers. After all that, anything remaining is sold to the general public. As you might imagine, for "premium" games (OSU, MSU, ND... and I'd probably include PSU in that group, too for the sake of argument) there are rarely, if ever, any public sale of tickets. There usually are, however, public sales for tickets to other less popular games. So if you're looking to "just go to a game".... try something less popular. If you're hell bent on the PSU game, I'd recommend talking to a season ticket holder (hopefully you know one!) and see if they're able to order additional tickets to the game. Memory escapes me.... but I believe the offer for additional tix either comes as a separate form with the ticket renewal, or a separate mailing altogether. (Someone correct me here, please...) Otherwise, expect to pay a premium to someone looking to dump their tix for that game (like on craigslist, for example).

I know this is a long shot as I don't really know anyone on this board, and I only post once and awhile, but I figured it is worth a try. I have been a diehard Michigan fan for as long as I can remember and have never made it to a Michigan vs Notre Dame or Ohio State, and would absolutely love to be able to go just once in my life. I can not afford the price of donation required to get season tickets. Would any season ticket holder be willing to purchase an additional 2 tickets to either of these games and sell them to me. The only catch is I can probably only pay the $65 face value for the tickets and the shipping costs. If this is possible shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can work out arrangements. Thank You

Try multipling what you save times 100,000 and you might get a different financial picture. This is the sport that pays for everything else in the AD. This is a significant sacrifice by Martin, even if you don't appreciate it.

If you're an alumni, your local alumni club webpage will have a ticket swap (or at least they have the possibility of setting up one-- big Alumni Assoc has a template for clubs to load). Also in town, the two barbershops on State St usually have tickets for sale even on game day, albeit for a 50-100% markup. You can even buy tickets from students, but you have to get the ticket validated at the basement of the Michigan Union for an additional fee ($20 I think minimum). Then you always have StubHub or Ann Arbor News classified for tix before you arrive. Alumni Assoc also sends out an application to alums to buy single tickets around April/May.
