Championship Day Open Thread

Surprised nobody had one of these going yet.

Right now, Parker is putting on a show, and is carrying Duke with a 1 point lead over Virginia with under 9 to play.

VCU is currently leading St. Joseph's with about 10 to go. This is a big game for bubble teams.

And the other current Championship game on right now is Louisiana-Lafayette against Georgia State for the Sun Belt Title.

The afternoon games feature the #1 overall team going against the preseason #1 team; Florida vs Kentucky.

And then this game will be featured in it's own open thread: Michigan vs Staee.

I've been flipping back and forth between VCU vs. St. Joes and dook vs. Virginia. Both of the acc schools look good. VCU plays good defense, terrible at offense in the half court.

I think I'd rather beat State than be a 1-seed. I can already hear State fans claiming (after a W) that the previous two games didn't count because they were so injured and they're the real Big Ten champs. Just need to shut them up please

The fact that we may or may not already been locked in as a 1 does not diminish the need to shut up those mouth breathers

St. Joseph's holds on to beat VCU.

UVA is now the ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions.

Interesting note on teams who won their conference tournaments from the "BCS" Conferences:

ACC: Virginia

Big East: Providence

Big-12: Iowa State

Pac-12: UCLA

Not the expected names to see as Tournament Champs. In the games to be played, it's a little more of the norm:

Big-10: Michigan or MSU

SEC: Florida or Kentucky

We're going to have to match their intensity because this is going to be the ultimate redemption game for them. They're going play harder in this game then any they've played before and probably play all year.

There were moments in the ACC Chamionship Game where I was pretty sure that Dick Vitale had climaxed and would need to change at the next media break, and admittedly, there was some worry about what might happen if Jabari Parker made another stylish basket. The last thing you need if you're ESPN is for one of your analysts to be worn out and unable to continue the broadcast like that.

Do you guys remember from 1998 to 2009 when today just sucked cause we knew we had zero chance of getting a bid?  Much less debating weather we'll get a one or two seed?

Me either.
