CCHA Semi's starting times

Submitted by Lionsfan on

Just saw on the Michigan Hockey twitter that puck drop times have been announced. Miami-WMU is the afternoon game at 4:35pm, and Michigan-BGSU is at 8pm

Both games are Televised on Fox Sports Plus

Yeah but it's not like we're talking about Super Bowl Sunday prime time. College Hockey is a niche sport, and there's going to be a giant portion of their potential audience (both TV and physical) that won't be seeing this game. March Madness>A Conference Tourney game

Whoever schedules these game times for both hockey and basketball deserve a boot to their ass. This is third fucking week in a row now that there is a scheduling conflict with Hockey and Basketball. Good thing NCAA streams the Basketball games live, so I'll just have it on my laptop muted while the Hockey game is on. If these fools were smart, they'd realize that they're losing a portion of the Michigan TV audience. Many fans will be watching the Basketball game. While they could have made a killing with an early Hockey game, because everyone would be watcing that and then swtich to Basketball when the game ends. But of course, they take the moronic route. It's the CCHA though so I shouldn't be surprised.

I think you mean College Hockey. Because I bet that there's some overlap between the CCHA idiots, and the idiots who decided that the best location for a Frozen Four would be Tampa

The same morons who, in 2010, thought it would be a good idea to have a Frozen Four at a 65,000 seat INDOOR football venue in Ford Field. Most idiotic idea ever. Period.

The Final Four? Great, love it. The Frozen Four? Put it at JLA or don't bring it here. Stop the gimmicky bullshit.

West Regional last year in St. Louis, was idiotic. The Frozen Four in Tampa just might be the ultimate egg on the NCAA's face in terms of venues for championships. Unless a school like Michigan who has a huge every alumni base all over the country and has fans who have money & dedication makes it, this event will be a disaster.

Hopefully Michigan can save the NCAA by making it to the Frozen Four, and winning it all. It would be the first time in program history they would be playing a game in the state of Florida.

Best revenge would be Michigan winning the league at the Joe to give a figurative middle finger to the CCHA.

Cya mofos, enjoy the shambles of your league without us, Sparty and Ohio!

Is that we are the major draw. Recently, the gongshow puts us in the late semifinal game regardless of seeding for tv. I am not sad leaving the gongshow with their crappy refs.

and watch them both at the same time or visit the nearest Buffalo Wild Wings and do the same.  Complaining will not get you anywhere anyway!

Not the worst thing ever. Halftime of bball flip on over to hockey and once bball is done there should be about half the hockey game left.

Wonder if I can get the sports book at the Venetian to turn on the UM Hockey game as opposed to some other NCAA Hoops game? Chances of this are  <<<<< walking away with $10,000 from the craps table.

Excited for Vegas - Wednesday night through Sunday. Bring on the Madness!

Go Blue, beat all things Ohio (OU, BGSU, NTM).

i really don't understand how college hockey suits decide when attendance is important (seems to be the case here) and when it is unimportant (frozen four site selection), but i do know that we seem to get screwed a lot as a result.

Doesn't this happen every year? I distinctly remember looking up basketball scores on my phone during the ccha tournament at the joe for the past three years. Not that big of a deal imo and I don't see how the ccha is at fault for this, this is just when tournament hockey always starts

There's a difference between scheduling the CCHA tourney games at the same time as some basketball games (inevitable minor conflict for anyone that filled out a bracket) and scheduling one team's game at the same time their basketball team is playing in the basketball tourney (major conflict for the fan base they are counting on to sell the most tickets). I guess they think the basketball game will cost them fewer tickets than an afternoon start time.

I live in Rocky River (suburb of Cleveland). Is this Fox Sports Plus channel only a local one or will I be able to see this game live? I have DIRECTV with the full package.

The #1 seed gets beat by the #11 seed who somehow won its first round games, and now we slide into that spot, while the other two teams are the #3 and #4 ranked teams in the league.  I'm happy about this.

Sure, maybe its bad we play BG b/c they're on a streak, but I'm more excietd about playing the #11 seed.
