In case you needed more of a reason to hate the NCAA...

Saw this on my timeline this morning:

Stauskas: he and Steph Curry had shooting match set up for his Mississauga backyard for last year, TSN would televise. NCAA rules nixed it.

So, just so I understand your argument here.

You agree that Curry would "dust" Nik because he shot 44% from three while averaging 10+ threes a game (Ignoring that he shot just 38% the following year)

Vs Nik, who shot 44.2% this year (vs curry's %43.9 high) and had a higher career as well at 44.1% vs 41% for curry.

The only advantage for Curry is he jacked up more 3s (9.6/gm vs 5.2/gm)

Don't get me wrong here, I think it would be extremely entertaining and close.  However, I do think it's ridiculous to believe curry would "dust" Nik while using those stats as the reason why.

It does sound like an  odd rule, but there actually is a prohibition on any sort of practice or scrimmage if it is actively publicized or scored in any way, which is probably the one the NCAA referenced. I didn't realize it until I went back to the handbook just now, but the definition of a practice or scrimmage and when it can take place (or indeed where and under what circumstances) in the land of the NCAA is rather, well, anal.

Just read about this in the Freep. Then I read about some Oklahoma football player signing an affidavit so he could use his girlfriend's courtside Thunder tickets, and his school self-reporting serving spaghetti at a banquet when they were only supposed to serve a snack. The NCAA is not making any new fans this week . . .
