In case you didn't see it last time

I posted this once before, but just incase you didn't see it or vote, I'm gonna post it again.

I go to Bedford High School in Temperance, MI. Currently we're trying to build a new weight room and convert the old one into a wrestling room. Currently we don't have a wrestling room, and the wrestlers are forced to practice in a locker room. Plus our district has a multi-millon dollar debt and this project will cost $350,000. Just wondering if anyone here would like to vote for our school to get $250,000 from Pepsi. Please, your votes are much appreciated! We were in 13th place yesterday at midnight, now we're in 11th!

edit: 10th place since I posted this thread!

YOU CAN VOTE ONCE A DAY! Please vote as much as possible.!Use all your email accounts, plus you can vote once by connecting with facebook. Thank you to all!

You might achieve better results by saying they will hang up Michigan memorabilia in a portion of the weight room if MGoBlog wins this contest for you........

If you're going to give a grant in the category of "education" you might as well make it for education.

I'm sorry, but I can't vote for a weight room over something that might help more kids graduate from disadvantaged high schools.

I saw a link for my alma mater, Saline, and I gave them a click.

I've seen schools such as Chelsea, AA Pioneer/Huron, and Saline all improve their facilities in the past 5+ years, why can't a school like Temperance Bedford do so as well?

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but at a time when schools are cutting essential educational services like teachers, janitorial positions, busing, arts, music, etc. etc., it seems a bit callous to try to procure a grant as substantial as this to build a weight room and renovate a wrestling room.  Especially when it's stated the school district is already in millions of dollars in debt.

Even if private donors are helping to make up the difference on this project, it seems there are probably other projects in this district that would be more useful and impactful on students than this.

The economy is what it is these days.  And when schools are cutting things that are essential, like, um, education and the infrastructure and personnel that support it...  Probably best to put the new athletics facilities on hold and ask those donors to help elsewhere.
