Carroll and Wilson - Praise for Braylon

Submitted by 1464 on

Some pretty good fluff coming out of Seattle.  I've always been a Braylon Edwards fan, I think a lot of his bad wrap was his own doing, but he's a good guy overall.  It is good to see he is putting in the effort to excel in Seattle.  I liked Wilson, even at Wisconsin, so that is a duo I will enjoy watching this year.

I really respect Wilson's game and leadership and Braylon will always be remembered for what he did at UM. I'm excited to watch these guys light it up this year. Hopefully Braylon can stay out of his own way and realize this is likely his last stop in the league.

Calvin was better at Ga Tech than Braylon was at Michigan if you adjust the numbers to the talent of the quarterbacks throwing to them. CJ's 2006 numbers (76 rec, 1202 yards, 15 TD) are truly astounding when you consider that his QB was Reggie Ball. Edwards' 2004 stats are also eye-popping but even a freshman Henne was much better than Ball at - if nothing else - heaving it past the secondary downfield.

Megatron, Braylon and Fitzgerald are probably the three most dominant college wideouts of modern times.

More like 2 inches and 25 pounds. Their speed was equal, jumping was edge-Braylon, and both ran good routes. The physical edge Megatron had wasn't as big of a deal in college since both were bigger and faster than almost any CB they saw. In the pros is where that was more pronounced, we're corners are 6'1" 200 as opposed to 5'10 180 in college.

But Braylon is not in the same zip code as megaton as a wr. Recall Braylon's hands issues? No doubt he was a great college player, but he also was a frustrating talent at times too. In the nfl he added a sometime ugly attitude to the mix too. Megatron has neither of these two major flaws. There are a ton of big rangy Wrs that have played the last decade that fit this description. I love him cause he is blue but comparing him to the best wr in the nfl is sheer slappiness.

...I gotta say that fans out here are the most optimistic sports fans I've ever seen. It's kind of amazing and heartwarming and hysterical all at once.

The Seahawks will always have a chance out here in their fans' eyes. They will always beat a team they shouldn't once a year, probably the 49ers this year. And Beast Mode will only show up for exactly half of his games, but they will be monstrous appearances.

Glad to see they they cut TO. Him and Braylon on the same team may have combined for more off-field incidents than touchdowns, but would've been amazingly entertaining nonetheless.

Braylon has some skills and some time left in the league ...if he wants it.

It is great to see a 5-10 or 5-11 QB like Wilson have a good shot at making it on Sunday. Gives us some hope for Denard...perceptions need to change that shorter athletic QBs can be effective in the NFL.  If the accuracy is there with the ball, then these guys should get a chance.
