Carl just signed with Anaheim for 4 years and $16 million. Congrats to our favorite Swede.

I did like seeing him in the Rangers unis though. Much better looking than Anaheim's brown-silver-orange disaster.

In much less glamorous news, Scooter Vaughan signed with the Chicago Wolves today.

Re: uniform downgrade, every Original Six uniform is among the best in sports, full stop. Anaheim is a bigger downgrade than others, but going from any Original Six club to any other team (in any sport) is likely to be a step down.

headed to a good team at a pretty nice price.  I think he works much better as a complement to others than as a lead guy, and this is a nice place for him to land.

Huge Rangers fan.  Love Hagelin's speed and PK ability but $4MM per year is a lot for a third liner who doesn't finish.

I am very sad, and have been very sad since the trade.  I'm not huge on wearing jerseys, but when a M guy is on one of my professional teams, I've gotten them.  I got the Hagelin home jersey for the Rangers (first since my kid sized Messier one), and still sport my David Harris to every Jets game I go to.

Hags was universally loved by his teammates in NY, and though he wasn't a prolific scorer for the Rangers, his speed constantly put the pressure on opposing defenders and led to a lot of scoring opportunities.  Damn you, NHL salary cap!  Wish him luck in the future!

This is a horrible place for him to sign. I liked the Ducks when I was a kid, you know back when they had Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya tearing it up. I cannot stand them now. Same with San Jose, Vancouver, and to be honest almost all of the West. I'm so happy the Wings switched to the East

Good for Hagelin, the Ducks should continue to be a contender out west. I have to say he's more like top 3 favorite Swedes considering the Perfect Human and Z...
