Can we make today an unofficial holiday?

Submitted by dieseljr32 on

Today marks the first day that we are FINALLY under a week to go before the start of the football season.  I feel like we at MGoBlog should declare today as the start of Kickoff Week so we can get the festivities and optimism flowing at high levels.

You don't have a holiday a week before Christmas to celebrate it being a week before Christmas...

Besides, moving the holiday to an earlier date (apart from ruining tradition of holidays) would only cheapen the feel of the actual holiday. Dammit, now I'm gonna go write some emails to DB about keeping Kickoff Day on Kickoff Day, the way it's always been!

You aren't working, right?  Call it St Herbie Day, he's the patron saint of speculation and hyperbole, which is appropriate given what everyone will spend the next week doing.

Thursday is my "holiday" before the holiday! It's when I try to get in prime football watching shape, so I don't get too overwhelmed in watching football all day, starting with College gameday until the last relevant game on tv that night. Fortunately, I'll be in AA this weekend, so I don't have to worry about catching all the games on TV..but I just might DVR everything, including the Michigan game!
