So basically McCaffrey improved in the offseason, but Peters is the exact same player that he was in his first few career starts, even though we haven't actually seen him play this year? Got it.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:38 PM ^
Yes we can.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:39 PM ^
Let’s not speculate about current guys on the team transferring. And this whole deal about “Mineral King” and his 17 different usernames is just dumb.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:44 PM ^
Why would we all agree on that?
Harbaugh named Peters the backup. Peters hurt his knee prior to the ND game and rumors were he’s been sick all week.
Until Harbaugh says “We’re moving forward with McCaffrey as backup,” then there’s really not much reason for debate
September 8th, 2018 at 8:17 PM ^
Sometimes a head coach will name a player "2nd string" to keep him from transferring if he was named 3rd string. It makes for depth at a position. It seems wrong, but it happens.
It is what Nick Saban did with Jalen Hurts and Tua, never committing to who 1st string was, to keep Jalen Hurts from transferring, as his father said would happen if he was named 2nd string.
September 8th, 2018 at 9:47 PM ^
Saba might do that. I Don't see Harbaugh doing that.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
I’ll think about it.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
shitpost
September 8th, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
So we're switching to DCaff now? Sorry, I won't get tired of this pun for a while.
September 8th, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
So to be clear, we're just ignoring the "Mc" part of his name now?
September 8th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
I just ate a qp from Donalds
September 8th, 2018 at 11:07 PM ^
It's an Ohio thing.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:02 PM ^
No. Harbaugh said Peters is but was injured.
September 9th, 2018 at 6:14 AM ^
Brandon Peters played yesterday. at the end of the game, after McCaffrey had played. Injury is not keeping him from playing.
September 9th, 2018 at 8:35 AM ^
A couple of handoffs in garbage time?
September 8th, 2018 at 8:07 PM ^
If he wasn’t coming into the season, Peter’s injury may happen the door to DM now being #2. I’ve been impressed from what I’ve seen so far.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
The think the "injury" was just an excuse for Jim Harbaugh to move McCaffrey ahead of Peters. I read before the end of last season that legitimate insiders said, after the Bowl Game, Peters would never see a meaningful snap at Michigan again.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:18 PM ^
I bet Mineral King and MichiganFan1984 think the same thing!
September 8th, 2018 at 8:23 PM ^
Man, come one, look out for Sasquatch!!
September 8th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
Oh, so you mean the many on this board should finally come to agree with reality?
September 8th, 2018 at 11:09 PM ^
So you and your 3 burner accounts make a quorum, I guess?
September 9th, 2018 at 6:19 AM ^
I don't have 3 burner accounts. Go after MichiganFan1984. He is playing that game. And I am fed up with it. Hopefully he will get off using my account to play his game. And maybe he can start doing it with yours.
September 9th, 2018 at 10:13 AM ^
It's funny how defensive you are, almost as if you were caught.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:11 PM ^
I think mccaffery looks more composed than Peters. The fact that he got the second string snaps is telling.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
Guys and gals (and mods, hey), this a$$clown (MichiganFan1984) is, as others have pointed out, the same person as MineralKing, SkyPanther, and several other accounts. It would be best for all his/her posts to just get deleted, I think.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:14 PM ^
Sorry, but he doesn't have my account.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:20 PM ^
I suppose that’s technically true. You have multiple accounts on this site.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:24 PM ^
You think Chupa Cobra is real too? How about the monster under the bed?
Just let is go. I'm not either of those guys.
September 8th, 2018 at 10:00 PM ^
Chupa Cobra? Taco bell serves snake?
September 8th, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
That's gold Jerry!
September 8th, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
+1 to you sir. giggling like a school girl.
I really don’t get the multiple accounts and agreeing and arguing with your alternate personalities thing....
September 9th, 2018 at 6:27 AM ^
These other accounts are not mine. MichiganFan1984 needs to find someone else to do his thing with. Hopefully he will choose you and you will end up with all the crap happening to you.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
DCaf is better anyway
September 8th, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
My conspiracy theory is that Peters and DCaff are about equal, but Harbaugh knows/ thinks Peters will transfer at the end of the season and figures he’ll give DCaff more work. I think it may change if Shea gets hurt.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:31 PM ^
No he should be the starter. Bench Patterson!
September 8th, 2018 at 8:37 PM ^
MK is a fraud and you’re an ass. Why don’t you stick to making up stories about your kid being a student at Michigan & then posting about being a first time dad. You wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you in the face.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:45 PM ^
Is there anything that makes you happy Red?
September 8th, 2018 at 8:38 PM ^
Neither give me anywhere near the same level of confidence that Patterson does. Patterson will be the starter for two years. Maybe Dylan becomes the starter after him, maybe not. But I don’t think he’s gonna win any big games for us this year
September 8th, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
He keeps playing like this he will be in the NFL next year.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:48 PM ^
I don't understand why this is so important to some people. Speculating or wishing Dylan is better than Peters and then patting youself on the back whan Dylan gets in the game first is ridiculous. It also seems that many almost want Peters to transfer, by the constant speculation that he's going to transfer if he loses his job. How about rooting for players on the team regardless of where they fall on the depth chart. I hope nobody transfers and honestly do not care who gets the first snaps off the bench.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
The undercurrent that Brandon Peters is going to transfer came from insiders. It is why it is found now in commentors.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:50 PM ^
It makes sense for DCaff to be the backup. DM and DP are similar QBs with DM showing more mobility, so why keep two of the same style QBs when you have a freshman in Milton and if Peters transfers it opens up a scholarship?
September 8th, 2018 at 8:55 PM ^
Also, Cade McNamara is coming in next year, early, in January. It is likely he is better than both Peters and Milton. If there was a lot of chefs in the kitchen this year, wait till January!
September 8th, 2018 at 9:01 PM ^
How on earth is it likely that he is going to be better than Peters and Milton? He is in high school now. Next year will be a true freshman going up against a sophomore and senior.
September 8th, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
Its "cooks in the kitchen" you boob. You are a waste of data packets.
September 9th, 2018 at 6:24 AM ^
Well, maybe at your house cooks are the problem. You've never met chefs. I've dealt with them for 24 years. In the first week of work I called a chef a "cook". He immediately said, "I'm a chef, not a cook. I didn't go to school for 2 years to be called a cook".
So, yes, it's chefs. A very good use of your data packets.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
This feels like something that isn’t worth getting worked up over. But here is my .02.
I think DCaf is the backup. If he truly is 3rd string, then I don’t see the value in giving him so much playing time today.
September 8th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Based on McCaffrey being the first QB off the bench, and Peters playing at the very end of the 4th quarter with the 3s, I think that's the case. Whether McCaffrey beat him out or Wally Pipp'd him when Peters was hurt last week, impossible to say. As for the grad transfer, no clue what the dude plans, I'm not him.
September 8th, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
Dcaff allows them to run the same style of offense as when Shea is out there.
