Can we all agree Dcaff is the backup.

Can we agree on this? MK and others said this for weeks and Um11 and others scoffed at them. Peters will most likely grad transfer with two years to play no?

Let’s not speculate about current guys on the team transferring.  And this whole deal about “Mineral King” and his 17 different usernames is just dumb.

Why would we all agree on that?

Harbaugh named Peters the backup. Peters hurt his knee prior to the ND game and rumors were he’s been sick all week.

Until Harbaugh says “We’re moving forward with McCaffrey as backup,” then there’s really not much reason for debate

Sometimes a head coach will name a player "2nd string" to keep him from transferring if he was named 3rd string. It makes for depth at a position. It seems wrong, but it happens.

It is what Nick Saban did with Jalen Hurts and Tua, never committing to who 1st string was, to keep Jalen Hurts from transferring, as his father said would happen if he was named 2nd string.

If he wasn’t coming into the season, Peter’s injury may happen the door to DM now being #2.  I’ve been impressed from what I’ve seen so far.

The think the "injury" was just an excuse for Jim Harbaugh to move McCaffrey ahead of Peters. I read before the end of last season that legitimate insiders said, after the Bowl Game, Peters would never see a meaningful snap at Michigan again.

Guys and gals (and mods, hey), this a$$clown (MichiganFan1984) is, as others have pointed out, the same person as MineralKing, SkyPanther, and several other accounts. It would be best for all his/her posts to just get deleted, I think.

My conspiracy theory is that Peters and DCaff are about equal, but Harbaugh knows/ thinks Peters will transfer at the end of the season and figures he’ll give DCaff more work. I think it may change if Shea gets hurt.

MK is a fraud and you’re an ass.  Why don’t you stick to making up stories about your kid being a student at Michigan & then posting about being a first time dad. You wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you in the face.

Neither give me anywhere near the same level of confidence that Patterson does. Patterson will be the starter for two years. Maybe Dylan becomes the starter after him, maybe not. But I don’t think he’s gonna win any big games for us this year

I don't understand why this is so important to some people.  Speculating or wishing Dylan is better than Peters and then patting youself on the back whan Dylan gets in the game first is ridiculous.  It also seems that many almost want Peters to transfer, by the constant speculation that he's going to transfer if he loses his job.  How about rooting for players on the team regardless of where they fall on the depth chart.  I hope nobody transfers and honestly do not care who gets the first snaps off the bench.

It makes sense for DCaff to be the backup.  DM and DP are similar QBs with DM showing more mobility, so why keep two of the same style QBs when you have a freshman in Milton and if Peters transfers it opens up a scholarship?

Well, maybe at your house cooks are the problem. You've never met chefs. I've dealt with them for 24 years. In the first week of work I called a chef a "cook". He immediately said, "I'm a chef, not a cook. I didn't go to school for 2 years to be called a cook".

So, yes, it's chefs. A very good use of your data packets.

This feels like something that isn’t worth getting worked up over.  But here is my .02.

I think DCaf is the backup.  If he truly is 3rd string, then I don’t see the value in giving him so much playing time today.

Based on McCaffrey being the first QB off the bench, and Peters playing at the very end of the 4th quarter with the 3s, I think that's the case.  Whether McCaffrey beat him out or Wally Pipp'd him when Peters was hurt last week, impossible to say.  As for the grad transfer, no clue what the dude plans, I'm not him.
