Partisans' "perspective" vs recruits' :)

Day has a roster loaded with talent. If he demonstrates that he knows how to employ talent-look out. Next year Michigan will be given the opportunity make a serious dent in the OSU domination...and if Michigan wins 2 years in a row...look out in the other (Michigan's favor) direction. That's all.

In a perfect and rational world you have a point. But I have to assume that, here, you have never recruited. "Perfect" and "rational" does not (well) define the recruiting world. I loved recruiting and getting to know the kids but you win and lose kids for the craziest of reasons. It may be counter-intuitive to you...but you're the one who makes no sense.

He will almost certainly recruit better than Harbaugh. With dead weight like Pep on staff, Michigan isn’t built to recruit. Also, OSU is a destination that Michigan isn’t for many reasons. There is, however, a lot of space between “better than Harbaugh” and “as good as Meyer”. A huge amount of space.

I will bet that Alabama hires someone well known, with a reputation for being a top recruiter when they have to replace Saban. They're surrounded by talent, but also by nearby schools that are serious threats in recruiting. A step back in recruiting after Saban is inevitable, but they will pay to minimize it.

OSU could have done that, but they're taking a gamble with Day.

Think about it . . . if Saban leaves and Alabama replaces him with an assistant that is unknown outside of Alabama, they will still be Alabama and will recruit very well.  But they won't be able to keep recruiting at a Saban-level where 5-stars across the country drop everything to go play for the legend.

Those players are going there to play for Saban.  There is no equivalent.

Without Saban, there are a number of schools that are equivalent to Alabama.

They will still be good, but they won't be preeminent.

I don’t know that day ever can get to where Urban was just because the guy won two while coaching in the recruiting hotbed of the south. He has a unique level of connection and credibility there.

If Day does well he’ll do great on the trail but frankly Urban was recruiting at a level we may never see again for a northern school.

Insane to think Day will be in a position to recruit better than Meyer just by continuing to beat Michigan a couple of times. Just insane. Meyer didn't get national recruits by beating Michigan.

One point that's been overlooked is that Meyer lost two of his top recruiters in Zach Smith and especially Kerry Coombs. If Day loses Johnson, that will be a big blow.

If OSU beats Michigan the next two times under Day, I'll just grab my hari-kari knife. Well, maybe not that bad but I don't even want to think about it.

Most celebrated when Meyer the Liar announced his retirement but in reality the pressure went way up on Jim and Michigan to win next year and it won't be easy as Day inherits a loaded OSU squad especially this year's freshman and sophomore classes. And make no mistake about it, that was Day's offense last month that shredded us, not Meyer's.

Now the big question is how does Day adapt to being the man in charge. That remains to be seen. There will be immense pressure from those lunatics in Columbus - can he handle it ?

The article already had a very poignant inaccuracy at the time of its publication yesterday stating osu is ranked first in B1G recruiting rankings again. As of Friday night, that distinction belongs to Michigan when Keegan chose blue.  Frankly, that oversight is glaring and odd given the headline. The article makes several compelling points, but this is a detail you really ought to have correct when you are publishing on a website called 24/7 that is focused exclusively on recruiting.

I failed to make adjustments too.  In 2016 I wore a pair of block M earrings for every game.  I got a new pair for Christmas that year and wore them to the Orange Bowl-- and we all know what happened in that game.  I continued to wear them in 2017, and well, we saw how that year turned out.  I reverted to my 2016 earrings in 2018-- failing to realize that they only had luck enough for 10 games in them.  I'm sorry guys.  I'll do better in the future.

I'm giving my Hover Helmet a last chance.  It first arrived just before last years bowl game against (NT)USC.  After taking a different position, and moving around again, I didn't have it displayed until the OSU game this year.

It has one more chance.  If the Peach Bowl is a loss, that Hover Helmet goes in the trash.
