Buckle Up?

Per MGoFish writer Garrett Fishaw, by way of hints through Sam Webb and Allen Trieu and a confirmed source, some very good news is supposed to drop in the near not-so-distant future.

Fishaw said it didn't have anything to do with Aaron Banks, who is announcing soon.

I pay for scout and 247 and this seems to be who the hubbub is about (or DPJ). Read that a commitment was supposed to happen yesterday, but there was a snafu with his announcement video. Sounds like it will happen sometime this week. Good vibes from Sam and Allen and some recent ballz action going his way (Thomas).

over a tweet or Vine - not sure which.  Very simple and low key - which I think is classy.

To postpone due to a "video snafu" is sad.  I get that a high school kids wants the attention, but some of these announcement can be a little much.

Snafu is a cool word; situation normal, all f'd up.

The Age of Social Media. How can a person think that anyone other than their family gives a flying fuck what you did all day, what you ate, how many times you rubbed one out. Social media is turning our youths into entitled, self-absorbed, narcissistic ninnies.

To imply that someone does not have any humility because they want to make a fun video announcement of their committment is extreme. Some people are more inclined to the spotlight than others, which does not equal less humility. It could imply other personality quirks rather than humility. And really it mostly comes down to my generation's fixation on social media likes, for better or worse (I am a fan of Twitter likes as well).

But you also have to look at it from their perspective. These are high school kids who've been busting their asses since a young age, working out early, learning the playbook, and having to balance that with keeping up their grades.

Most of them aren't going to make it to the NFL, and most of them aren't even going to be college stars. Plus a sizeable chunk come from underprivileged backgrounds. So if they want to have a little fun with what might be the biggest announcement/time of their lives, more power to them.

I mean no disrespect here, but is Garrett Fishaw actually connected?  He and Stephen Osentoski put out some quality videos but I can't figure out if he is just reiterating other people's inside info or if he is actually out digging on his own.  Anyone have insight?
