Bowl game $wag bags

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Normally I'm against using '$' in words but this fits.

Some hilariously bad ones in here. I feel so, so, so, so bad for the Colorado State and Nevada teams.

Not only are you in a bowl game that is not televised but rather streamed online, not only are you in a bowl game that is not exactly a vacation bowl away from your region, not only are you FROM THE SAME CONFERENCE PLAYING IN A BOWL because the suits from the B1G wouldn't allow their 5-7 teams to play in a game that they are not tied into.......

Your bowl gift is literally a pair of cowboy boots.

Michigan players will receive $315 Best Buy gift card, Timely Watch, EA sports video game of choice, iSlide footwear and a random beach towel.

Kind of sucks as a gift suite is the one everyone wants.

Except FSU is in the ACC and Miami was in the Big East when they played in the Orange Bowl.  And Florida is in the SEC.  So those aren't teams from the same conference playing in a bowl game.

And a good amount of them get a free college education worth probably around 100 grand at one of the best university's in the country, playing the sport they love, with a chance to make millions in the NFL. They chose to play football no one forced that upon them.

Most of them have a natural skill set or body size any amount of hard work can't match.

I could lift in the gym 24/7 and still won't be 6'0 running a 4.4 40.

So I take out loans to go to college and work full time in the summer....Yea don't feel to bad for them

This has nothing to do with Michigan's swag bag, but if you go to a bowl at 5-7 I feel like all you deserve in your swag bag is a Coke, a gently used Fall Out Boy CD from 2008, and a Timex watch from Kohl's.

I've always found it interesting that the NCAA is so anti-impermissible benefits but we have this system of rich guys running bowl games and doling out hundreds of dollars in gifts to every player. I guess as long as the NCAA also makes money from it then it's ok
