Bowl game announcements thread
I figure we could just put a big thread together to talk about all the other non-NY6 bowl game news as it comes out.
ESPN doesn't do a bowl selection show anymore where all the games are announced in one sitting, so the news of bowl game matchups will come out throughout the day.
edit: nevermind. ESPNU is doing a show at 4. Oh well, we can still have this thread.

We already have an interesting storyline game. The Willie Taggart bowl.
WKU vs USF at Marlins Park.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:53 PM ^
Taggart is doing good work at USF, no surprise considering he was coached by Jack Harbaugh and is part of the Jim Harbaugh coaching tree.

Ugh.........that's a shame. Everyone was hoping for Boca Raton since the boat rowing horses are headed to the Bahamas (where it's just better, better in the Bahamas)
I've been to Mobile and the only cool thing there is the U.S.S. Alabama.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:01 PM ^
I live across the border in Pensacola Florida. Mobile is decidedly meh.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:04 PM ^
My grandparents live in Navarre/Pensacola.
I'll be 21 in July so I can finally have drinks at Juana's Pagodas.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
Thought you didn't drink.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:31 PM ^
I don't now. Doesn't mean I won't in the future.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:32 PM ^
Heaven forbid someone waiting until "shocker" they are 21.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:36 PM ^
No, I've said on here that I don't drink awhile ago.
It's still dangerous and there's too much negative that can come from it imo. I've seen the negatives up close personally (at a young age, too) unfortunately, which gives me those thoughts and worries.
Doesn't mean I won't have a drink at bar on a beach that I've gone to almost every other summer.

You keep doing what you're doing WD. You're wise beyond your years.....except for your hard on for noon games - I'll never understand that fetish.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:41 PM ^
how old will you be when you see your first vagina?
December 6th, 2015 at 2:47 PM ^
Zero.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:57 PM ^
It will never happen.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:58 PM ^
Douoble post.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:46 PM ^
the team that has Mike Hart on their coaching staff?
Go Broncos!
December 6th, 2015 at 1:52 PM ^
We announced. I need to get subs
December 6th, 2015 at 1:53 PM ^
Looking forward to that one, expecting my Air Force Falcons to make that one. They played in the MWC championship yesterday losing a close one. Playing against a B1G team, should be interesting matchup.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:58 PM ^
My damn Sparty uncle just posted on FB that MSU is on their way to the Playoff while Michigan is "hoping to make a bowl. LOL" Anyone else still wondering why we hate them so much?
December 6th, 2015 at 2:04 PM ^
I haven't wondered that since they beat us 3 in a row (08-2010). My MSU friends barely mentioned the rivalry before that. Now they act like they've been owning us since the First World War
December 6th, 2015 at 2:18 PM ^
I have to keep reminding my sparty friends that games before 2010 count 2
December 6th, 2015 at 2:36 PM ^
Stop living in the past
/s
December 6th, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
Well in their minds they have been owning us since the First World War - because to them that was the day Mike Hart called them Little Brother.
They're remarkably uninterested in human history before D'Antoni, although a few of their more grizzled clan members will occasionally invoke Bubba Smith or Andre Rison.
But the younger sparty just shove them aside like they were Archie Griffin and look for another couch to torch...
December 6th, 2015 at 2:06 PM ^
He got a gift but clearly isn't too appreciative. Funny how quickly folks forget...
All good though... Im looking forward to our bowl.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
All 10k or so MSU football fans should be writing Blake some thank you cards. Without Blake, they're watching OSU in the playoff
December 6th, 2015 at 2:53 PM ^
It amazes me that Sparty still does not know how to act after having several successful seasons. My wife can not stand when they win because how they act on Facebook. If they do not know how to act now, just wait when until they start their demise. You will never hear from most of them again. Can't wait!!! Up yours Conner Cook.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:59 PM ^
Drawing Florida in the Citrus Bowl would be a good bookend to the 2017 opener in Dallas, I guess. I think we'd match up better with them than LSU. If by some chance we could get Notre Dame that would be fun.
In reality, I just want to enjoy Christmas in the warm company of family and friends, get a win over a quality opponent and move on. This season, while nearly reaching my most-optimistic expectations, has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Also, Sparty must lose at all costs for the future to remain tolerable.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:01 PM ^
The Fiesta Bowl is the same time as the Citrus Bowl meaning our national audience will not be great in all likelihood -- especially if the Fiesta Bowl is Ohio State vs Notre Dame.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:01 PM ^
My guess is the it will be ND or OSU and not both. I expect OSU to be matched with Houston.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:03 PM ^
I will have a tough time trying to determine who to root against in that one.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:57 PM ^
That's the dream scenario for me. Not only will I not have to watch either of those teams play, but one of them is guarunteed to lose. Win-win.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:02 PM ^
It looks like Nebraska will play at Ford Field in the Quick Lane Bowl.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:05 PM ^
Will lose to them
December 6th, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
Yes I do.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:11 PM ^
Knock it down!
December 6th, 2015 at 2:29 PM ^
Do we really want to summarily use the Lions in the event the ACC cannot fill slots? Could the Browns and Lions maybe have some sort of play-in to see who gets Nebraska at Ford Field? Fair is fair, after all.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:13 PM ^
All Nebraska has to do is keep Westerkamp healthy and run the "Hail Mary" play 45 times
December 6th, 2015 at 4:55 PM ^
I was wrong, they ended up in the Foster Farms Bowl vs UCLA. Minnesota will play Central Michigan in the Ford Field Bowl.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:13 PM ^
I'm pretty sure there's a selection show on ESPNU at 4 pm. Could be wrong though.

Wait...the noon to 4pm doesn't include the other bowls?
December 6th, 2015 at 3:16 PM ^
Those are announced at 4pm est
December 6th, 2015 at 2:15 PM ^
Cali or Arizona
December 6th, 2015 at 2:19 PM ^
Good chart but you're missing the New Year's Eve games. I think it's just the Peach and two playoff games but I'm not sure.
Also, the Fiesta bowl is at 1 pm? That's 10 AM local time on New years day. Gonna be a rough morning for the fans, and probably a sleepy game, not that I'll be watching.

11 a.m. local. We aren't on dst here in AZ.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:31 PM ^
Jealous. Indiana used to be one of the smart states that didn't have DST.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:53 PM ^
DST was over right after Halloween.
December 6th, 2015 at 3:12 PM ^
Right, point being that Arizona is 3 hours behind eastern when most of the countrt is on dst, only two hours when most are on standard.

Oops. That reply was suppose to go under Sambo's. Not sure how it ended up under yours.
