Bosch transfer to West Virginia is likely

Submitted by BlueCube on

I saw numerous twitter mentions but this seems to be from the most reliable source. One tweet mentions that he's on the early enrollee list for West Virgina although I haven't found confirmation yet.

Barring last minute hiccup, EerSports has learned that former Michigan OL Kyle Bosch will transfer to #WVU. VIP scoop http://t.co/pfHSFG41i2

Edited to add to save a few idiots: You may want to read Seth's Diary before posting negative comments. The important part is:

STEPS FOR TRASHING A PLAYER WHO DEPARTS THE PROGRAM Know enough. Make sure you know enough. Make damn sure you know enough. Think "should I do this?" Don't do it. Those who skipped any steps from 1-5 were banned.

Vinopal and Christian transferred to Pitt Then Christian did his 5th hear (this season) at WVU. He didn't register in the bowl game and was pretty much a reserve DB all season. Vinopal was a 3 year starter at Pitt and was a very good Safety.

I still haz a sad about this. I think of all the OLine prospects Hoke reeled in I was most excited about Bosch. He's got a ton of potential, I hope he realizes it and has success at West Virginia.

I suspect this is just the beginning of the transfers. From what I've read, once winter workouts get in full swing, alot (or maybe just some) of the guys will not rise up, or want to rise up, to what is going to be expected of them. Jimmy doesn't fuck around.

You are ok playing short of players but you would bitch lke hell if we lost scholarships because of NCAA sanctions.

There is no way that saving scholarships or otherwise playing short of players is a good thing unless you are unable to get anyone remotely skilled. It's very likely that Harbaugh is going to be able to bring in quality players anyway.

on why Bosch did not stay?   Read about the 2 options given by Harbaugh and I assume they were compete for a backup spot or transfer.   Why wouldn't he stay and since he was a 4 star, why wouldn't Harbrough encourage him to stay?

It would appear that Jimmy loathes quitters.

We understand that Kyle was probably 19 or 20 years old at the time and none of us is perfect and we all learn from our mistakes but if he did leave the team because he was pouting because he got demoted for not playing well, that's not good.  From the Sporting News:

"After expecting to redshirt as a freshman, he moved into the starting lineup midway through the season and started three games. He later was benched and didn’t play in Michigan’s bowl game. Bosch said the staff told him he had not performed well against Northwestern and Michigan State.  In this season’s opener against Appalachian State, Bosch played just a few snaps. He admitted to Sporting News that he was unhappy and considered transferring after going from starting guard to playing mop-up minutes.  Two days later, former Michigan coach Brady Hoke issued a release stating that Bosch had “taken a leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time for personal reasons” and that “we wish him the best and look forward to his return.”

I'm sure in Jimmy's mind, to walk out on your teammates mid-season is an egregious offence like desertion or going AWOL.  It's cowardice and it's antithetical to everything he's trying to build into the character of his team.  I'm also certain that if Jimmy had been the coach at the time, there would be no option to return.  Since he wasn't here, he probably did give Kyle a chance to compete for a back-up position.  Which is why Kyle said this:

"It just seems like now it just wouldn’t be possible for me to go back to Michigan and be as successful as I possibly can be.”

I bet though if Kyle was contrite and realized he had let his teammates down, realized that it's a great honor and privilege to play football for the University of Michigan, and proved to the coaching staff that he had learned his lesson, he prpbably could have earned a starting spot again.

Bo didn't say, "The team, the team, the team, unless you're unhappy about your playing time."

This is obviously conjecture and we wish Kyle all the best.

Business, Casual or nothing. How do we that this had nothing to do with level of clothing formalness? May the guy was vehemently opposed to Business Casual attire, a staunch supporter of Business or Casual...therefore precluding him from ever owning or wearing khackis. That may have been the stipulation...khackis or transfer. If thats the case, you have to respect a person for standing for something.
