Bosa Out Until At Least November

Submitted by cheesheadwolverine on

Surprised I hadn't seen this posted yet but Nick Bosa's father said he is out until at least November after surgery and will he be reevaluated then.  It doesn't sound like he's all that certain he'll play at all this year.  First and foremost you feel for the kid, but if he's not 100% for The Game, it could mean a lot especially against our tackles.

No one was wishing injury on Nick Bosa. I’d rather he not have gotten injured, but if he can’t play against Michigan, I’m not going to apologize for feeling relieved that Jon Runyan doesn’t have to line up opposite him. I doubt many OSU fans were bummed they had to play against John O’Korn last year instead of Brandon Peters. They also had no problem stomping all over our collective grave when Tressel beat up on bad RichRod teams. I don’t give a shit about beating them when they’re at full strength. Just beat them however you can.

Again, I feel bad for Bosa, but when you’ve lost this game as many times as we have, you take the victories however you can get them.

I don't know how you deciphered out of my post that I hope OSU comes into that game "hobbled" or "weak," but that's on you, pal.

I don't wish for injury on anyone, but they're part of the game. No team, from Rutgers to Alabama, is immune from injuries. If Bosa doesn't play against Michigan, and that's a key reason why we win the game, that's just the way the dice landed. I'm not going to apologize to you or to anyone about getting that win if OSU isn't at full strength. I'm not going to apologize for Jon Runyan having an ever so slightly easier day. You think OSU fans apologized for beating Michigan teams that couldn't even make bowl games? Or you think they felt bad about O'Korn literally handing them the game last year? Most of them probably took great joy in it.

If Bosa plays, great. Still find a way to beat them. If he doesn't play, it's a tough break for him and I'd feel bad, but I'm not going to give two shits about possibly beating an OSU team that isn't at 100%. Michigan doesn't have that luxury anymore in this rivalry. Take the wins how you can get them.

I remember him on the bench after the injury, when in his street clothes, and he told a player, “They said I’m done” and it wasn’t a “for the game” comment.

I caught it and the player he said it to had that “so sorry” look and response

No doubt about it - he'll play.  This is the one game that they try to play if at all possible.

The real question is how receptive will his core be to taking hits.  He may wind up wearing some sort of ab armor to help guard against re-injuring himself by playing too soon.

His draft stock is crazy high right now.  Pretty sure even by sitting out until the bowl to really heal up (or even not then) he could still be top 3 if not top pick overall depending if whomever has the top pick needs defense or offense.  Either way he'll make bank.  That said, this is The Game.  Everything else pales.

Honestly, after what happened to Jake Butt and Maurice Hurst... he’d be crazy to play another down before the draft. Heal up and kick ass at the combine.

This is a trashy post and everyone here looking at how it positively affects Michigan should feel bad. Finding positivity in a human being injured because it increases your odds of winning at sports-ball is pathetic.

My understanding of the core muscle surgery is that he could play as soon as Nov, but as with other athletes that have it...   It can take a year easy to get totally back to 100%.    I could see him back this year, but not at the level he was.    As much as I do feel sorry for the kid...   I don't think it affects his draft stock much, and he probably could have tried to just deal with it or have the surgery and focus on the Future NFL plans.    Of course I am no doctor and all of my opinion is simply based on hearsay.

I have no doubt he will be back for it. I also won’t be surprised if we are missing key players because that is the trend lately. We seemingly can never go into that game with a healthy team anymore.
