Borges: we'll use a lot of shotgun; Brian can move off the ledge

Submitted by ish on

I'm sure we'll get a full report later, but the Wolverine reported that Borges said that we'll use more shotgun than he ever has b/c of Denard.  That's good news.

I see what you did there.

<br>I am past the whole pro/anti RR debate so I have no problem laughing about pt criticizing mistakes the old coach made ( sort of like making fun of Lloyd punting on 4th and short in enemy territory).

The coach to whom you refer would have loved to have a QB to "adapt to" his first year here, and would have loved to have a roster loaded with upperclassmen, as this one is.  It's a much different situation than the one he walked into.

So funny that some actually think that if he had Mallet staying, along with Boren & a few others he would have "adapted". I dont think he'd know how. I think you'd have seen Mallet lining up 7yds deep and Boren trying to get down to 290 and zone blocking.

Sorry, nothing I've ever seen could lead me to believe that RR has the capacity to "adapt" his offensive or his defensive schemes to personel at hand. One trick pony. Oops, make that 2 tricks, one of them being commentary.

Hahah when I read your thread title at first I thought Borges called out Brian and told him he can move off the ledge becuase they will be using a lot of shotgun. Would have been hillarious, unfortunately I read it wrong.

as I recall last year with Lindley and TB Hillman.

I think it's a good decision by Borges, but at the same time I liked the previous discussion about the speed option out of the I-formation Nebraska-style with Eric Crouch). Don't tell me Denard Robinson is slower than Eric Crouch.  The big difference though is that Michigan's OL is probably not as beefy and talented as Nebraska's was during those years.  I still can't understand why Nebraska fired Solich.
