Board of Regents Forum Postponed
Read into this (or not) as you will, but the Board of Regents candidate forum that was supposed to be held today has been postponed. It will now take place on October 24. Only one current Regent, Kathy White, is scheduled to participate.

I think it's only one because she's the only one running for re-election.

This a forum for people to ask the potential candidates for Regent questions. Not a forum for the other Regents to take questions. There are two spots up this year and one of the incumbents is not running. Only Kathy White is trying to be re-elected. So.....
1) These are not the droids you're looking for (i.e. this doesn't mean shit)
2) However.....its a good opportunity for disgruntled Michigan fans to go ask the people who are running for the two spots their take on why Brandon hasn't been yanked yet and what they would do about it.

It's a candidate forum moderated by the League of Women Voters. if you're not running for re-election why would you participate?

This is a candidates forum. There is only 1 current Regent who is running for re-election, and she will be there.
Six Regents are continuing in office, 1 is running for re-election and 1 chose several months ago not to run for re-election.

The problem with your statement, of course, is that this is a meet-and-greet with questions for candidates basically, and for people not yet on the Board but merely running for it at present, so let's not read too much into leadership issues when we're talking about people who as yet have no voting authority on the Board. So, I am not exactly sure what you're questioning here.

There are two Regent positions up for election this year (one incumbent, one open). The Regents are nominated by their political parties. It is clear that the only Regents who support Dave Brandon are those of his political party (though dislike for Dave crosses political lines). Hard to discuss voting for Regents without delving into the political here, but I would recommend, in the interest of weakening Brandon even more, voting for those Regent candidates of a different party than Dave Brandon.
