Big night for Rich Hill. Go Blue and Go Dodger Blue!

Um, yeah, it's NorCal Mom.
Now get me a beer!
October 19th, 2016 at 2:17 PM ^
I'm not from Cali but every time I'm there I've heard it referred to as Nor Cal.
October 19th, 2016 at 12:01 PM ^
Only good thing about Jim Rome in the '90's was his reference to Northern California as "No Cal"...which has clearly stuck.

I never want to hear one more word about "poor Cleveland". It's nauseating. Like the MSU disrespect garbage.
October 19th, 2016 at 10:21 AM ^
Well, I can't promise you that you'll never hear another word. I can promise you won't hear anything from me. You do realize Cleveland has won 1 major championship in nearly 60 years? In the meantime have had heartbreak after heartbreak and if it wasn't heartbreak it was complete trainwreck after trainwreck (ie; Browns). The truth is that many, I included, wondered if they would ever see a Cleveland championship. The fact that they are on the precipice of winning 2 in a row in the same year is incredible.
That word IF Cleveland wins is still a pretty big word for Clevelanders.
October 19th, 2016 at 11:12 AM ^
The issue is then watching Cleveland fans, "pull a Boston" and become immediately insufferable after pulling a "woe is us." act for so many years.
October 19th, 2016 at 12:34 PM ^
Very true. I think the difference is Boston fans acted like they were just the little guy when they were so obviously not and spending money on a New York Yankees level. Cleveland really is "the little guy" in that regard.
Plus, ESPN being in Bristol puts them in Boston's backyard, easier coverage. Bigger market. Ain't no ESPN execs wanting to hang out in Cleveland.

...let's finish these two series first.

True and thanks for the reminder.

Go Dodgers! They've always been my second team I cheer for behind the Tigers. No real reason other than their hat. I love that crispy white LA logo over the top of the royal blue. I've been rocking mine since the Tigers were eliminated.

Having such a great performance in the playoffs!
GO BLUE!!

And as a Cub fan, it sucked.

So long as the Cubs lose, we'll be ok.

Would be good if Cleveland loses too though so LA and Toronto are our only hope.

Lifelong Dodgers fan and was loving how Hill was pitching last night. Great game! It remains to be seen how the Dodgers handle the rest of the series with their rotation held together by spit and baling wire, but should be a fun ride.
I almost wonder if this "break the curse" pressure on the Cubs is to their detriment and advantages the team they are playing in whatever series they are up in.
October 19th, 2016 at 11:00 AM ^
At the very least Kershaw and Hill will pitch again, and the Cubs couldn't do much against either. I'd feel ok it I were a dodgers fan.

It was a darn impressive performance by a Michigan Man. But...
"This is the year and the Cubs are real"
Tonight is approaching do or die territory. Go Cubs Go

I'm happy for Rich Hill, but I was hoping he would get a ND as the Cubs won. Chicago needs their bats to wake the heck up.
October 19th, 2016 at 10:52 AM ^
He came out of the Atlantic League to roar back to the Show.
Bartman has gotten a bad rap for years (blame it on 1945 and Murphy the goat) but isn't it ironic that Chicago Cubs fan Bartman is now known as the "GOAT"?

Tomorrow you'll be saying Cubs in 7.

Also, Al Montoya made a great start for the Montreal Canadiens last night. Big night for M alums in sports other than FB/BB!
October 19th, 2016 at 2:13 PM ^
Montoya was really sharp after the Habs scored that first goal. The Pens threw everything they had for the rest of the first trying to get the tying goal.
Also, Max Pacioretty scored that first goal (the game winner). And added an assist. Even more of the Michigan difference.
October 19th, 2016 at 2:39 PM ^
That's right! That was nice. I'm from Montreal, but don't follow the Habs/NHL at all. When I saw that Montoya and Pacioretty had nice games though, it made me happy. Of all combinations of UM alums to make headlines in one night, Montoya, Pacioretty and Rich Hill are about as obscure a trio you can come up with, but really cool nonetheless.
