I like it, and even if it is the first time, it's probably worth a sign for a game at some point. Either that or "Through the maize, you shall amaze" as a more roundabout way to praise success, although I like your version quite a bit. Like someone said, this does rank a bit low on the list of things I am interested in changing, but it isn't a bad change at all.

Why does Harbaugh feel the need to change every little thing? I understand it is his program and he wants everything his way but from day 1 he has changed a shitload of things. This is why he is better off in college.

Because Goddammit. I LOVE that Harbaugh is putting his stamp on anything he wants to. Continual signs that it is his team, and his program. He is not making big verbal statements, just doing what he wants to do. Satellite camps. All White away unis. Maize goal posts. And all the stuff we don't even know about. He has won everywhere so far, and done things his way--and those were places he didn't even have personal ties to prior to being the head coach. I love that he is here, and he can put stickers on the helmets, or change the goal posts for all I care...He's going to change the culture, and I like it.

Wait until Coach finds out they changed the bathrooms (as I have heard, as I have not been there since the renovation and I assume that it is not just a planetwide plot to make me seem foolish on a message board) and that you no longer intentionally pee on the wall.

Changes will be made!

As an Iowa fan by by genes, he reminds me A LOT of Hayden Fry. He changed as much as he could to make the program his, including the logo, to make Iowa his program right out of the gate. That created a fresh idenity for the program almost overnight and among a lot of other things, helped turn the hawkeyes into a solid program.

I may be in the minority here, but I agree with him. This seems to be an incredibly minor thing to care about enough to change, and why? Good or bad, he has certainly changed more than any other coach before their first game. If the posts had been the same color since the 80s, you're now going against the tradition you seem to value so much. I love harbaugh as much as the next guy and want him to be very successful here, but I'm just a tad concerned about this.

You read that entire post and came up with the most literal translation. Well done.

But I'll humor you. They're goalposts. Which is exactly my point. Why does he feel the need to change something so trivial, that's been this way for 35 years?
