Best way to watch UM Football overseas?

Submitted by modaddy21 on May 10th, 2018 at 9:05 PM

I am currently stationed in Guam and was wondering what would be the best way to watch football this coming season.   I don't have cable, I do have a PS4 though.  Anyone had good luck with BTN2go?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes this. For big games, grandma streams on there has the best quality.

I had btn2go international and it was a clown show. Games would take too long to be posted. Game replays would reset after every commercial break. One time it skipped to the end of the game and so I saw the final score. I didn't get a subscription last year but had the previous 2 years before that. It's ridiculous that people on reddit doing it as a hobby do a better job than btn itself.

If you can sign up, tenyardtracker has torrents but not all the games go up and they might take a few days. Some YouTube accounts were putting up condensed games pretty soon after games were played, like a day after. But I think most of those got shut down.

I would gladly pay for a quality service that lets me watch games live and on demand. ESPN still doesn't have anything going on online for Korea.

Really, how that works here is someone give an opinion to the tune of "You should do _________" and then the response is "That person is currently under treatment. THIS is how you should do __________". Even better, as I took down the duplicate, all that gets to happen in one thread.

Longtime expat here and someone who never misses a game.

Your best choice is to set-up a Slingbox in the US before you leave, but it needs to be set-up where someone can monitor and fix it if needed and where the person will also always watch the game.

Other options are:

1) BTN2Go International - this is a pay package and is excellent, but only shows the BTN games live.  Non-BTN games are available for streaming usually after midnight ET.

2) US Cable Package + VPN - if you have a login for a US cable package you will need a VPN with a US server to access the streams as they block from non-US IP addresses

3) USTVNow - is a free service for games on CBS or NBC, you can pay extra to get ESPN and to get a record function

4) ESPN Player -  is another pay service for games on ESPN.  It is not available in Asia, but maybe in Guam?  I pay for the services and then access it via the VPN from a server in Europe

5) Armed Forces Network - I guess you will have access in Guam and they will show most of the bigger games

Hope this helps and watch out for those hilitai down there!

SetTVNow is the best. $20 a month and you pay month to month. No worrying about canceling on time. If you subscribe for longer than a month it becomes cheaper. You will also get the NFL Sunday Ticket. Quality is also great!

you say stationed... if you are on a military installation, a lot of providers will allow you to connect to their web apps from your on post IP address without the restrictions (at least in the European version of overseas). Look into it and find a good friend with a password.

Armed Forces Network was pretty solid for carrying M Football games. I filled it out by also getting an ESPN International package - this was 6 years ago so and I'm sure the streaming prices and content are all a ton more confusing now.
