Best and Worst Scenarios
Best possible scenario: Morris starts and performs well. He gets better each game and UM wins 6-7 BIG games. The record is OK, but the team shows hope for next year.
Worst possible scenario: Morris performs poorly. He is replaced with Gardner after a game or two and UM wins 3-4 BIG games. The record is terrible and there is no hope for next year.
Let's hope for the best.

There is another possible QB on the roster. If it gets ugly, Speight could be called upon.

Desperate Times call for Desperate Measures.
I took my then 10 year old son to his first football game in 1997. While roaming around the stadium taking in the beautiful fall morning we of course purchased M gear. While looking for a sweatshirt for Nick he says to me, "Dad, look at this neat hat, the M lights up." And so it did, and so I bought it. The game we came to see, because tickets would be relatively cheap, was against Minnesota and Michigan prevailed 24-3. I wore that hat on November 1, 1997 and every following game day, after the Rose Bowl victory I built a case for the hat and have proudly displayed it in my M cave these last 17 years. Today, for the first time since January 1, 1998, I will wear that hat.

Best case: Hat blocks UV rays effectively.
Worst case: Hat too hot, unbearable head sweat ensues.

Best case: Renewed hat traidtion leads to victory this Saturday and every other Saturday until the end of college football as we know it.
Worst case: Electrocution due to dodgy wiring of lighting apparatus

Best: The team sees an incredible turnaround. Goes 9-3 or 8-4 with at least one rival win
Bad: Team collapses and we don't get bowl eligible.
Worst: Hoke does ok (8-4 with both rival losses, or 7-5 with one rival win), gets fired anyway, No available candidates. Underwhelming comes into divided fanbase, runs off a bunch of players that don't fit the new system, recruiting craters. We go through another coaching transition in 3-4 years.

I wish a lot more people understood the breadth of what you noted as 'worst'. I think many who are NOT purple in the face right now and can see the revolving door UM will turn into if we don't ride out some growing pains. Hoke did start 11-2, and then the youth took over, then a OC change and now a QB issue... It may never end and the boo birds and bandwagoners fans don't help.
These are not excuses, these are realities... and yes they can happen at Michigan too.

This is worse than even I thought. I said 6-6 but I thought we’d win this one, at least at the being of the season. We suck! If they don’t fire Hoke & Co. after this or one of the next two losses at Rutgers or home vs. PSU, then it looks like they are just riding the Titanic to the bottom. Remember how even Rich Rods 3-9 crew managed to hold onto the jug?
If you really want change, don’t go to anymore games if you have tickets this year. You’ll save yourself gas and food money anyway. More importantly, don’t buy any merchandise. None! Tell your friends and relatives not to buy any stuff with the block M on it. All these people understand is money.
