Belleville coach Jermain Crowell mad at UM again
This time it appears to be over Zordich's comments in the press regarding LaVert Hill.
I'll say this I've never seen a State coach publicly question a kids toughness from Detroit. Especially a kid who played a entire season hurt the year before.

As a matter of fact I've not seen a coach from anywhere else in the country ever do that. Not just State but anywhere. I find that very interesting.
— CoachJermain Crowell (@JermainCrowell) April 19, 2018
Never in the public eye!!! There needs to be a trust amongst coach and player. I see no way that a player can trust a coach who publicly questions your toughness. Interesting situation. I'm just watching.

Zordich said he is dinged up, but they can't figure out what is wrong with him. Need him to play in order to figure out what is wrong.
I'm not a fan of Zordich's comments on the topic. That is the kind of thinking that pushed kids back from concussions too early for too many years. Not that this injury is a concussion, but if rushing a kid back from a minor injury causes a major one, I'm sure Zordich would be eating his words. It doesn't sound like a hurt vs. injured thing, at least the way I read it. YMMV.

He coached Hill in high school i believe so he is just in his mind looking out for one of his guys.
No he coached Delano but not Lavert. Crowell was DC at Cass Tech before taking the Belleville job in 2015. Vert went to King, in part because of his brother's experiences with this tool.
Also recall Crowell fucked with one of Fred Jackson's players' eligibility:

I usually like coaches who try to stir the pot but Crowell does it in all the wrong ways, trying to start feuds, trying to screw players into playing for him, etc. He's the kind of guy who sees Harbaugh's "antics" as a way to get your name in the press but doesn't understand morality or ethics and therefore doesn't know how to emulate the way Harbaugh attacks from the high ground.

Agreed, the Head Coach at EMCC is unstable and pushes things way too far (great for TV and emphasizing the pressures college football players are under). No Michigan coach even approaches that level, and I'd venture to guess even Kevin Wilson at IU didn't either.

Wait, what?
I thought we were 2004 B1G champs. Won the Big 10, lost to Texas in the Rose Bowl in a game that I find it bit painful to remember.
(The guy can still be a troll for other reasons.)

we just know that it was from State and not Michigan. Use all this evidence on your RMBC thread to show how reasonable state fans are on MgoBlog and how we are are all koolaide drinkers here. Those are the threads that really get upvoted.
Given his spelling and capitalization, I might question if he's actually a college grad...

identifying you as a troll. That was the statement - not trying to tie recruiting concerns to a kid's emotional breakdown or the hysteria that every recruit is going to State.
If you are going to into hysteria about recruiting, at least worry about OSU who will end up with a top 5 class. Not State who will end up around 18 (if Michigan ends up at 18, the star gazers will melt down).

Being a vocal, trash talking fan of Rape University athletics in 2018? Yikes.
In this day and age of mega conferences where the schedules are completely unbalanced and unfair, a BIG championship is a joke.
See Wisconsin, every year competing for a BIG title because of their schedule being a joke.
Get back to me when this is fixed.
April 19th, 2018 at 10:38 AM ^
Do you really fail to see the discrepancy in the schedules?
The conferences need to be realigned, when 4 of the 5 best teams fall on one side.
Wisconsin hasn't won it because they don't deserve to be in the title game, but for their easy schedule.
You made my point.
BIG Champs:
2004 Michigan
2010 Wisconsin
2011 Wisconsin
2012 Wisconsin
but I seriously have to question why a recruit with multiple quality P5 offers would even consider MSU at this point. The risk of sanctions is high, and there is an outside possibility of the death penalty. Someone is giving them really bad advice.
or, maybe something else is influencing them ?$?
April 19th, 2018 at 10:20 AM ^
that Belleville's coach is huge MSU guy given his past statements and unreasonable distain for UM. So wouldn't be surprised if he was pushing MSU, but you're right, it doesn't make sense and idk why players would even consider MSU right now
April 19th, 2018 at 10:04 AM ^
Michigan hasn't offered Jaren Mangham.
That *might* be why Michigan didn't make his top 16. Just a hunch.
April 19th, 2018 at 12:36 AM ^
complained that is was kind of a dick move for them to call out Hill like that but I don't give a shit wat Crowell says or thinks. He hates Michigan and will always look for a reason to trash us. It's the same situation we had with the last coach at King, they will et us waste our time recruiting those kids but they will never come here. I hope Harbaugh catches on and just ignores any kids coming from there.

April 19th, 2018 at 12:55 AM ^
Nope. I wasn't 100% sure so I checked on 247 going back to 2014 there are zero recruits from bellevile that came here
And it is not a big loss to lose those players because we never had a chance in the first place. None of those kids will come here, the only thing we have to lose is our time that could be spent recruitng kids who might come here. On top of that the only chance I can see to make a guy like Crowell be a bit more fair would be to make him understand that we wont offer his kids if he is going to trash us and make them hate us as well.

Ian Gold was from Belleville, I played against him in high school. The guy used to block extra points from the edge, he was crazy good.
April 19th, 2018 at 12:46 AM ^
All he said was that he is not going to wait for Hill to get healthy in order to have guys ready. He is just tired of seeing his 2nd best corner be consistantly hurt. Last year he said the secondary was garbage and then both Hill and Long put up All-American numbers, so I would not look into this at all. Crowell is just butt hurt and hates michigan. Don't worry about the recruits out of that school and don't worry about trying to get Dobbs or anyone else cause it ain't gonna happen anyway.
