BBQ at the Big House and Manchester United - A match made in heaven.

What a great idea to create more buzz for this event that there has ever been in the past. Typically they have the BBW when campus and the Stadium are quiet, and my guess is why this event usually draws names but not much further interest. This year?  I’m expecting 3-4 commits.

They seem to have really sharpened the recruiting pencil in the last 6ish months, which is great because it wasn’t looking all that promising before. Things nowadays actually make sense......

This is an excellent take. I think this soccer event represents the kind of excellence across a broad spectrum that this Michigan of ours embodies.  Very smart to link up the BBQ in this way.

Having worked the camps the last two years and the BBQ  last year, I think this set up will be impressive. Last year the recruits met up at Junge center met with current players and coaches, walked thru the locker room to the field, then up to the Roth Club for some mediocre Siris BBQ. That all seems fine but it's basically the tour you could sign up for with some chicken legs and beans at the end.

This year some of the camps were held at Glick /Schembechler due to weather and turf replacement so I got to see them a few times for 6 hr. at a time. This is where you'll be living the next four to five years if you commit (you're only at the Stadium maybe 20 times a season). For most of you that haven't seen the locker room at Schem they're awesome (If a little stanky). Then you probably see the four practice fields (indoor --Glick and the half of the old Oosterbahn) and the outdoor grass and turf fields. In between you see the weight room which looks some idealized facility  straight out of Wonka's chocolate factory. It made me want to lift and run up the indoor hill. Hopefully they follow this up with better food outside on the new blue endzones on the pracrice field.  Then golf cart over to the stadium at halftime to experience ~100k beer infused fans. Sounds like a great afternoon.

Although there aren't any great BBQ places in Ann Arbor, they still have to do better than Siri's. I have had catering from Lockharts BBW in metro Detroit somewhere, and that was pretty damn good. Would definitely go over well at an event like this, especially one with actual southern recruits attending that you are trying to impress. Can't serve shit BBQ to a kid from Georgia and expect him to come to your school.....
