Bball - EM # 30 Jerome Hunter Visiting Today

Submitted by matt D on July 2nd, 2017 at 11:43 AM

Huge visit today as Hunter is the #1 target on our board, and easily the most talented prospect remaining of those options that are realistic for 18.

Can play the 2, 3, or 4. Adding him to Dave and Brandon would make this an elite, top 8-12 type class.

Here's hoping we can seal the deal.

Highlights I put together of Jerome at the Spiece Run-N-Slam in May.

Let's refer to our other 2018 commits as DeJulius and Johns if they are the only names in the sentence. You're gonna scare people that a certain ex-AD is hanging around the basketball facilities.

Adding Hunter and* Tyson would make for an epic 2018 class (including Currie tho he's a project).   I'd take Iggy over Tyson probably by a hair, but think Tyson has more upside. *Question becomes whether we oversign or call it quits after Hunter.  I'm not as convinced we're done with one more commit.

But they may know something we don't (i.e. Mo was really close to being taken in round 1, and all but a slam dunk to go next year...Charles Matthews has been Godly in practice and reports have NOT been overexaggerated/the normal redshirt bluster.  Ibi or player x is thinking of transferring if he continues to not crack the rotation).  They may be anticipating another scholly opening up for  Weems/ or Watts if we lose a PG to transfer.

His highlights are impressive. I can't recall Michigan having a player with his diversity of skill sets in some time. Looks like he could play 1-4. I hope he drops to the good guys sooner than later.

Let's hope he more of a 2 and not a stretch 4. It's seem ever prospect over 6'7 is slotted to play the 4 spot even if they are a natural guard.

He looks much better than his recruiting ranking. With his athleticism,I assumed he was a top 50ish player. He should turn into another great Beilein find after a college weight training program.

He's black, which means Maizen thinks Beilein isn't recruiting him.

On a serious note, this kid looks impressive. For all the "Beilein can't recruit" folks, he sure is on a lot of talented kids. With Johns and DeJulius already on board, I really like this class

my favorite target in this class. It'd be a huge coup and put a hole in the fence Holtmann puts around Ohio before it's even built.
