There you go SevenMile, now you dont have to ask for an update in every thread and get negbanged =) Im not really surprised by this, although its kind of wierd that Marcus Lattimore, Lache Seastrunk, and Dillon will all have/are visiting Oregon. That MAY scare him off and help us if he likes what RR has to say in his in-home visit.

Is that why my pt total keeps on dropping? You ppl need to chill...I want the kid to come to ann arbor for gods sake, and there are always plenty of conflicting reports with his recruitment. Gotta give it to 0regon though. They do a good job of getting kids on their campus and recruiting for being in a state and region with so little football talent. They've built a good brand and know how to get kids to go gah gah over their facilities and "perks" (whatever you want to call them.) They should just have a swoosh on their helmets instead of an O for gods sake

...to choose from and plenty of PT to go around, so all these 5-starkids choosing Florida smells fishy. It's like Thad Matta or Calipari in basketball. There's no way they're not doing something against the rules. Of course, the NCAA could give a shit. I wonder if Florida and others are like, "Hey, the NCAA is busy with USC and Tennessee. We can get away with murder right now." (Cue "everyone murders" responses.)

let's be real - losing out on Baxter was kind of foreseeable (though still frustrating)! Objectively speaking, I think we should be thrilled about Webb's gut feeling and forget about Baxter. Nonetheless, I am a little bit confused about why we're out of consideration? Is it purely a timing issue with Baxter looking to enroll early (isn't it getting kinda late for that even at other schools?)?

Oregon and UF both run spread offenses, as does Michigan. Michigan has both beat in academics and tradition. I'm sure this is all about 3-9 and 5-7. I am excited about Parker though. Was he ranked in the Rivals 250 previously? I thought he was but his name is not there now. And Rivals dropping Torrian Wilson out of their top 250 can only mean one thing -- he will commit to Michigan!

I don't think enough people realize this - Torrian Wilson did NOT play after the first game of his senior season. You can't expect a guy who missed virtually his entire senior year to necessarily be one of the top 250 players in the country.

On the other hand, Gabe King missed the beginning of his senior season because he was moving to Oregon because he was ineligible in the state of North Carolina, and then tore his meniscus and hasn't played any football since October...and he's ranked #30 in the country by Rivals, and has been right around there the whole time. Rivals seemed to have little rhyme or reason with their rankings all year. Very erratic.

I would love for us to sign as many highly regarded players as possible, that being said, I want to see us sign some great defenders. If Parker is the real deal, then he is much more valuable to us right now. RichRod will continue to improve the offense, I think that much is obvious. Defense will answer the question of whether he will be here for 2 more seasons or 10+ more. I don't care is we average 40 points a game, if I don't see an improved D by the end of next season, I'm going to Ann Arbor Torch and Pitchfork.

have to deal with getting Austin White and Hopkins.... I think it is funny that we are so high on a kid who might give us a look again when we have 2 really good running backs already on board. Didn't SI rank White #10 RB in the country? Don't get me wrong I would love to get Baxter he is a game changer but Austin White isn't that bad and he is all in as well. Don't forget that and make sure on these boards we let these kids who did pick Michigan know we are happy they are part of the family. '03

I expect Toussaint/Smith to take the majority carries for the next 3/4 years. Hopkins will contribute because he is a power back and thats something that this offence needs. White on the other hand is not big at all (180 lbs) so he is going to be behind everybody and its not like we arent going to get any more good RBs in the next classes.

No way. Last I heard is that we are still very much in the running for Baxter. He called us right away when Pistol Pete bolted. I don't buy this from ESPN.

My take on Baxter is he bases A LOT of his process/decision making on trust and comfort instead of hype. We were the only other real player for him, and so there is still a good chance for us IMO. He committed to USC a long time ago and didn't budge. If he doesn't stick with USC he could go anywhere including Michigan.

I agree. Just last weekend I checked ESPN for Baxter to see what other schools he was supposed to interested in and UM wasn't even listed. So at that point he was considering decommitting, and the only school he had officially visited other than USC was UM so why were we not on their list? I looked again tonight and they have finally added UM to his list. Interestingly all 3 sites still have him listed as a USC commit. ESPN just seems to be anti-UM and anti-RR, but maybe its just my perception. Personally I have a feeling we lose out on him anyways.

....he already had his official here. RichRod still has an in home visit. Still a big longshot and i think he ends up sticking with USC but i don't think its OVER for UM and Baxter

...obvs. it's important to get that in-home visit after Baxter makes his other trips. Also obvs. to keep in contact w/him regularly around his other trips (except when he's actually on campus, per the rules).

Apparently UF and Oregon are trying to sell him on playing QB... "Moreover, Matson said that Oregon and Florida are talking to Baxter about playing QB, his high school position. USC had him slotted at RB, since he is only 5-foot-11. He would be a perfect fit with the Ducks, where he could apprentice under rising senior Jeremiah Masolli, another 5-foot-11 dual-threat QB."
