It's interesting that Illinois, Nebraska, and Rutgers don't have a Men's Swimming and Diving program.  Maryland does, but they are not competing in the B1G Championship for some reason (is it because they are new to the conference?).

Before expansion B1G had a really high percentage of schools with swim teams--only Illinois men missing. Even with the newcomers, we're still arguably the best at 10 men and 13 women out of 14 total schools. To compare the big 5 conferences: SEC: 10 men, 12 women out of 14. ACC: 10 men, 13 women out of 15.  Pac 12: 6 men, 8 women out of 12. Big 12: 3 men and 5 women out of 10.

100 fly prelims - four up / one down!  Two freshmen in grand finals.  "Four up / one down" means four guys made the A finals, and one made the B final.

I can't find the results of the 400 IM prelims for some reason.

Finals get underway in a few minutes.

400 IM - 1 up / 2 down

100 fly - 4 up / 1 down

200 free - 2 up / 1 down

100 breast - 3 up

100 back - 2 up / 1 down

Michigan is 12 up / 5 down, while OSU ended up 12 up / 6 down after the 3m diving.  Michigan had no qualifiers in 3m diving.  Let's get some fast swims, starting with the 200 free relay, and kick some Buckeye and Hoosier ass!  GO BLUE!!

Last swimming event of the evening:  100 backstroke.  Our guy got DQ'd in consolation final.  6 and 8 in champ final.

We are up 529 to 408 for Bucks - they'll get some more points tonight in the diving, but we are in good shape to claim the championship easily. GO BLUE!
