Is the Rutgers thing not happening, or is the BTN just completely ignoring that it is happening tomorrow?

Also, have to respect the Maryland President for being honest with everyone about his motivation. Makes a lot of sense from Maryland's point of view, at least in that regard.

My guess is since it's not official they're being told to stay mum about it. Probably for legal reasons. And I know it's unlikely the Big Ten would get sued, but that's what happened when Miami and VaTech were leaving the Big East. They had made public statements before officially exiting, and got sued about a breach of contract or something like that.

So I bet they're just playing it safe

It's all about money, OMG...seriously, what isn't? I don't like the addition a ton but I think the schools with less than stellar football programs come wtih a ton of upside. Rutgers has some tradition and maryland is to under armour as oregon is to nike. Northwestern jumped from adidas, I wouldnt be surprised to see Purdue, Indiana and Wisconsin make the jump in the near future. Maryland needs a new football coach because Edsall is a joke, but once that happens I think they'll be okay.

How would people feel with Michigan going with Under Armour instead of getting back with Nike? You gotta think Tom Brady will make that phone call to Brandon.

As far as uniforms, I've always said Adidias is a distant 3rd behind Nike and then UA in football. Still think we go back to Nike when the deal is up but either is better than Adidias. Money or not, I think they know what it does for recruiting and merch sales. IIRC, Adidias admitted last year that they haven't made a single return on investment in the college football arena (but they have to get in the market somehow, etc). I do not own a single piece of Adidias UM gear and know many more who also still wear their old Nike shirts, hats, uniforms, etc. Also, new (old) Nike can be bought on Ebay and such. I've only seen two things from Adidias that I'd buy and that is the UTL Jersey and UTL coaches Polo. As with the playing jerseys, fabric and look is just worse than Nike.
