B1G! B1G! B1G!

Looking like 7-0 heading into the Michigan game tomorrow.

Bama and Georgia better win or the Playoff committee is going to have egg all over their face. Good news is it might finally force a 6 or 8 team playoff.

Will be interestering to see how ESPN tries to spin it.

Michigan is still a young team. We will be improved but will have a tough schedule. @ND, @MSU, home against WI and home against PSU will all be toss up games. We will be road dogs to @OSU but @ NW will be a tough game.  2019 will be our better shot at the playoffs.

It seemed clear to me that the B1G east was the meat grinder that the SEC West was 4-5 years ago. Osu, MSU, PSU, Michigan are all really good teams, possibly top 15 types. Throw in decent teams like Maryland and Indiana, and you’ve got a cannibalizing system. Wisconsin was always good, but their division was iffy. Wins by Northwestern and Iowa have shown that the entire conference is at least a notch above the others. MSU, PSU, and OSU all manhandled their PAC opponents. Wisconsin shut down a potent Miami offense and somehow made Hornibrook look like a Heisman candidate for 2018. There’s no question that the B1G was the toughest conference to play in this season.

That's how it looked going into conference play. Then our QB situation fell apart, and everyone underestimated MSU, and things kind of fell to earth.

But it turns out we weren't quite that bad. We just played a lot of really good teams.

Next year we'll be the great team that's knocking everyone else down.

I'm not convinced Wisconsin belonged in the playoff, the reality of a 13-win P5 team that didn't make the playoff is still quite mind-boggling.

With the perfomance of the top end of the B1G against other top 10 teams, hopefully we see a near guaranteed spot for the B1G or 8 teams in the playoffs going forward.

had no business in the playoffs. None. Is their schedule that much worse than UCF? Until last night, what was their best win? Michigan? Florida Atlantic?

The best team in the B!G was pretty clearly Penn State, but a 4th quarter meltdown in Columbus and an odd rain delay loss next week at Michigan State doomed them.

Why is this negged? Harbaugh is a top paid coach and we have finished 3rd, 3rd and 4th in Big East his 3 years. Year 4 involves a brutal road schedule and we are losing our top OL. Franklin was hired around the same time. Compare on field results and current recruiiting classes to PSU and tell me Harbaugh is doing great.

We thought the same thing after 2012 with hoke. Hell we even had a new qb we thought would be a difference maker in gardner and a highly touted recruit coming in to back him up.

But you have to realize the situation Harbaugh was in when he came here. He came into a situation where the QBs were a mess. He signed Gentry but never had any intention of playing him as a QB. He took as many transfer QBs as he could because the QB situation was so bad. One worked out, one did not. The first QB he recruited, Peters, is in only his second year, and has started to come into his own. QBs are usually not ready as true freshmen. McCaffrey is by all accounts good, but needs to get stronger/put on weight. Patterson is pretty solid. With a QB we would be looking at three straight 10+ win seasons. 8-4 will be the worst record you will see while Harbaugh is coach. If fans can't see that and the difference between Harbaugh and the past couple coaches, nothing is going to help them.
