Ask Jim Brandstatter

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on

Hey guys. I am interviewing Jim Brandstatter tomorrow afternoon and figured there's a ton that I could ask him. I thought I'd enlist your help to get me the best question set possible. I'll pick the best ones besides the ones I've already set aside. Thanks for the help!

It'd be great to hear stories about players and practice. Denard, Brady, Henne, Long, Woodley, Howard, Carter, Woodson, Terrell, Manningham, Wangler, Griese, Henson, etc.

Somehow I don't think he'd say anything, but I'd like more on Carr, and also Miles.

I'd like his take on Tressel and Dantonio.

Were either of these guys ever seriously considered had they had interest in the job?  How much has Harbaugh alienated the Michigan administration with his "academics" comments?  Does he think Tom Brady will ever come back and embrace the school in Desmond Howard UTL fashion?

An open eded question, and see how far he will take it than to try and get very interrogatory.

Jim, how do you view the 3 years of RR in retrospect now that we are 1 year beyond his tenure here?

Please ask Jim, if he is writing a new volume of  "Tales from Michigan Stadium". He has 2 out. I would love to see more stories from the 90's and 2000 teams. There are so many great players he can talk to.

Does he miss the old Michigan Replay, or does he like the new show he does with Hoke?

I worked as a intern on michigan replay in 1995 (Lloyd's first year) It was a tough year but great to work with Jim and Lloyd. Lloyd and his wife were so great and very nice at every taping even if Michigan lost..

Who has the better cheerleaders? UM or the Lions?

And no, I'm not asking who is better at double back flips.

1. Does he think that the MSU program is a legitimate B1G contender or have they just been feasting on a weak UM and B1G the past few years?

2. Now that UM is back, will MSU stay at their current level or will they fade?

3. Will  we see Denard at any position other than QB this year?

4. Who or what positions would he like to see  filled with our final few 2012 openings?

5. What commit or freshman is he most excited about?
