My gosh what complete and utter destruction.  Even with Casteel, all the jucos, transfers, and borderline academic kids, so far away from being elite three years in.

I missed the comment about JUCOs - could someone fill me in on how many AZ has and if they gave any detail i.e. what positions. Thanks.

RR had a solid year but this is another level.  There were some fortunate bounces that went his way such as a Hail Mary to beat UTSA.  But he is in the right environment and stress level for his type of style.  AZ will be content with being above average - its a bball school.

Michigan was a 5 win team Arizona was a (very lucky) 10 win team this year. They are obviously on different planets. Zpna would have crushed us this year.

Having said that...there was something eerily reminiscent about watching the futility shown by RR's team tonight. I know that it's Oregon and he was dealing with injuries...but it still doesn't quite explain...well, THAT.

I wish Michigan allowed some jucos. I have a hard time believing the past 7 years would have been so bad if we could plug in juco DBs and OL. I'm not talking about KSU levels. I'm talking about MSU or Nebraska levels.

Whatever RR was nothing in big ten and he is still as good as he was at WV period..he succeeds at Arizona because he can bring juco players, lower academic standards and shit load of transfers..he is a perfect example why i think some of these "great seeeccc coaches" will fail as well at a place like Michigan due to the fact they cant do all of the above

For all the RR lovers out there, If JH comes home I would LOVE to play a home/away with AZ at any point during JH's tenure to shut all the nonsensical DICKrod lovers up..difference between finesse ball with NO defense vs. HARBALL...hmmm would be fun to kick the dick out of rod..

I suggest you find a new non-hilarious recycled DB quote thats been used ad nauseum...this blog needs M(e) PukeE...and your tag line is pure genius = so according to your wisdom, dickrod was fired because he couldn't improve a team beyond mediocre which means he'd have a mediocre record every year right? I suggest you join the devin funchess blog of "wins & losses are only stats" world....Yay! Have a crappy life!

Reading comprehension failure, ad hominem, unoriginal counter to my relevant (albeit recycled) quote. Could be troll or in middle school.

Either way, I hope you put down the energy drink and go to bed, lest your parents find out you're still awake.

Amusing that the guy who considers 'unoriginal' has now used TWO MORE infamous DB quotes because he's sooooo original in thinking my middle school troll brethren adore those knee slapping one liners....Oh wait, Dave Brandon, is that you????

"I suggest you find a new team to root for, we'll be fine without you"

"Stop drinking and go to bed"

Any other (D)ouche (B)ag quotes u got in that chamber or do you still need Davie's help? Yes we all know Brian and Ace loveeeeeed those quotes and we all got a good giggle for about a week, but either way, I hope you find some new material lest your parents find out how UNoriginal you are in your awake state.

I don't see why he's the Heisman favorite. If you bring up Bryce Petty from Baylor, everybody says his numbers are a product of his offensive system. So are Marriotta's. My top three for the Heisman are Melvin Gordon, Amari Cooper, and JT Barrett

People gloating over RR's loss are forgetting that he beat Oregon earlier in the year.

Also Arizona got to their conference championship game, will be ranked, and will go to a bowl game.  They also beat their in-state Rival.  We lost to Utah, they beat Utah 42-10... a ranked opponent, on the road.  When is the last time Michigan did that?  3 years ago?  All that with a RS Freshman QB.

Arizona is better than us.  Deal with it.

I can't get over the fact so many people on this blog boast about the academic entrance for the football program. Majority of the football players that have, is, and will be on the Michigan football team would not get into the school on their academic merits alone. Most of those students get in under the NCAA minimums and long as they get through the clearinghouse, they will be on the team. I see many of the current players eating at the same places that I frequent in town and based on their conversations, nearly everyone on this board would rip them apart on their use of the English language...that includes nearly all of the players Hoke has recruited. If some of you think Michigan's recruits are much more intelligent then all the other schools, I have some snake oil to sell you. There are "MSU Level" personalities on the team as well. Just because these players are on the Michigan team, some fans think they are automatically better in everything including their character. Can we stop with the "academics" meme and take the Michigan blinders off?

I'm not "bragging" when I note that Arizona brings in JUCOs and we don't - or that we don't recruit as many borderline eligible guys as most other schools.  Those are facts and affect the way we operate as a program.

Part of what I love about Harbaugh is that he's demonstrated that he can be very successful at a school with even higher academic standards for athletes.

I do agree with you about Harbaugh's success and maybe a little bit about the borderline kids at Michigan. My S.O. is an LSA grad from Michigan and use to tutor many of the athletes during the Carr and a few from RR era. From what she tells me, most of the tutored players should be considered borderline as most of them barely had comprehension at middle school levels for reading, writing, and math...subjects she tutored. That is why I feel differently about academics for football players here. Not saying other schools are better, just saying the standards for entrance may not be that much different relative to other schools, particularly in the B1G.
