Anyone running the Big10K tomorrow?
*and now for something completely different (from all the off-season drama)
I'll be amongst the hordes of Michigan folks representing tomorrow morning. Anyone else running? Go Blue!

So many 5k/10ks I can't keep track of them all. Where is it?
Edit: apparently there's this useful tool right at my fingertips that gave me all the info I needed!

I'll be there! Corral B. Hoping for ~9 minute pace.

That's where I'll be also. Training pace is around 9:30-9:45 over 7 miles, so hoping I can get to 9 or below for the race.

I will be there. Right in that 9:00 pace with y’all

I'm doing the 5K. Not sure if others have participated in past years, but for me this year's race seems much more disorganized (i.e. website has limited information, packet pick-up wasn't particularly well organized). Hopefully race day goes smoothly though.

Post-race assessment - not thrilled about the course layout, mainly the stretch of the first and last mile which had people running in both directions on a relatively narrow stretch of the lakefront trail. My guess this was a non-issue for the start of the 10K - but became an issue when the 5K was starting and 10K finishing. Also the sharp turns coming into the finish area weren't ideal.
That being said - I'm glad they did it on the lakefront. Last time they had it south of Soldier Field - they had us running stretches in the loading dock areas of McCormick place - which on a hot/humid day is no picnic.

Agree on the two lane section. The elites were just passing me as I was entering that section, so a lot of yelling to stay in our side of the comes. There was also that one bottleneck at the beginning as we were approaching McCormick.
Don't forget those cyclists who apparently had some event.
I was totally psyched out a couple of times as to the location of the turnaround past mile 3.
I've been under that loading dock area for different races and agree that it stinks.
Fun event overall.

Opted out this year, but now seeing that Bill Murray is going to be there... Wish I'd pulled the trigger.

Waiting in corral B. How is msu the second most represented school? Michigan is 3rd and, as you'd expect, Illinois is number 1.

I’d love to be there but I just ran a half marathon on vacation. Good luck to all the runners.

54:40 and 8:48 pace. I'm happy with the result!
