Is anyone else getting tired of watching our basketball team play like shit?

Granted, I understand that we are young, and inexperienced, but it doesn't even look like we got off the bus tonight. Manny Harris officially has a give a fuck level of 0.7. It's not that I expect us to be world-beaters, because I don't. I really don't even expect us to make the tourney, but I sure as shit can't stand watching us make ohio fucking state look like a bunch of god damned superstars.

I actually watching them lose games. I'm sure they are also enjoying losing after starting so well. Clearly they don't care at all and are just screwing around out there. I'm sure the apology to you for wasting the time you spent watching them is forthcoming. Or, alternatively, you could just, you know, STOP WATCHING until they win and your bandwagon fanhood can be satisfied. Dick.

but...they were 10-22 last year. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that they were playing meaninful games in late January I would have fell over. Starting Lineup is all underclassmen. Got a good recruiting class coming in next year as well. Like Brian would say, no where to go but up

What is aggravating is that it seems like they've all forgotten how to shoot. Of course that's not the case, but it's a team-wide shooting slump that's just excrutiating to watch, especially since we got used to them actually being a decent enough shooting team earlier in the season. But hey, we weren't supposed to be making the tournament this year, and we'll still have a shot at it even if they end up losing this game, though granted it's an uphill battle.

within the Michigan community about RR. Jeff DeFran interviewed Phil Callahan on the Big Show on WTKA this afternoon and he talked at length about what RR is battling in AA these days. Good stuff. Comne to think of it, I'm gonna make a forum topic out of it.

Whoa, Rick55 (OP) is now offline? Guess he didn't stick around for the rest of the game. Also, apparently does not watch a lot of b'ball. Teams always go in streaks. Not sure if we will come all the way back but there is no way osu will shoot 60% in second half and M will shoot 20%.

The crappy shooting you've seen in the last several games is not a fluke, it's exactly representative of the shooting talent on the team, which is way under .500 in shooting percentage in the 1.5+ years under Beilein. It's the better shooting in the beginning part of the year which is the fluke. Couple that with no inside game to speak of, and you have a team that is tailor-made for the NIT.

Raw shooting percentage is a poor way of evaluating a team that takes a lot of three-point attempts. It doesn't take into account the payoff for draining threes. A team that shoots 4 of 10 from 3 will score more than a team that shoots 5 of 10 from inside the arc. A better statistic is effective field goal percentage, which gives 50% more credit for made three-pointers. eFG% = (.5 *3FGM + FGM) / FGA In December, our eFG% was outstanding; in January it's been much worse. Which one is the fluke remains to be seen. (I wouldn't put much stock into what happened a year ago, since half the team wasn't here at the time.)

Apparently the OP didn't watch this team last year... As frustrated as I am about the current struggles, its great that we still have a pretty good shot at the tourney and were able to get the two huge program-building wins. Go Blue!

Why not hang out (exclusively) on Buckeye blogs? The parenthetical was implied, you see. If we ever manage to beat OSU in a sport, the last thing that would cross my mind is trolling on OSU blogs. In fact, I see no reason to ever visit and participate on an opponent's blog...except maybe to read recruiting data or something. But the recruiting services cover that.

in my post and responding exclusively to it, why not address the substance of the post? Why come here at all? I mean, I guess it's fun to play the "look at me, I'm a moderate fan that destroys all your preconceived notions about OSU" routine, but it seems like you'd have more fun at a place where 99% of the people do not hate the team you root for.

and there really isn't anything more to it than that. What's your boggle, padre? I don't recall shitting on your cheerios, even if the teams I root for do it with astonishing consistency. And yes, I'm dropping these little digs in because I know it bugs the hell out of you. That, in an off-handed way, is trolling. It's also part of the rivalry. As Dear Leader would say, suck it up, you pansy. I'm not hurting anyone. And I'm done talking to you.

of the liveblogs. In a setting like this it is much less abrasive, obviously. The last thing you want to see when you are cheering on your team and they are flaming out is some guy saying "lol, Threebler, Go Bucks!" or whatever. It started as more curiosity than anything else - why spend your time watching a game where everyone else is rooting against you and all you do is subtley annoy them? Especially when I'm sure there are a myriad of other oprions out there. In the end I don't really give a shit, especially once the game is over. And because it was basketball. Oh and your other question - my entire family (and wife's family) is from Ohio and I am basically the only Michigan fan. And I am the only Democrat in a family of ~100 people. Needless to say, I know how to deal with people that disagree with me, "troll" me in real life, etc. I just wonder what would drive a person to purposefully avail himself of such situations.
