Any New Info On Kinard??

Submitted by Demar Dorsey 4ever on

I did a search and did not find anything recently about it, but has there been any new, news on Antonio Kinard.

Last I saw, was that they were just waiting on his SAT scores. So i was just wondering if anyone has anything new on if he will be able to join the 2011 class and maybe enroll early.

but have seen it posted that there are several things going into whether he is in the class or not.

No decision, I believe has been made yet from earlier posts.

There's a whole bunch of really exciting new information, but people in the know were just waiting for someone to post a thread asking about it before they released it.  So any minute now.

I didn't think it was a smart ass comment, as much as a funny post. But he has a point - if you searched the board and didn't find anything new, that probably means there isn't anything new.

I promise you, when there is new info on Kinard, there will be a post titled "TomVH: Antonio Kinard Update" or something very similar. The people who run this site will not try to hide breaking recruiting info.

Sometimes TomVH, or others will reply in fairly random threads, so it can be hard to actually keep track of smaller updates. Yes, I know that you can track a specific users replies, but some of our users may not.

While most of these threads don't end up being helpful, I'm not gonna lie and say it hasn't crossed my mind to post something like this just to organize all the facts.  Sometimes the sarcasm can just get to be a little much at times, you know?

This board is the most ridiculous that I've ever seen in regards to smug, smart-ass responses. The board has its advantages, for sure. The general IQ here is much higher than the average message board, and the information is great. But there is undoubtedly an element of posters who get a half-chub whenever they have an opportunity to zing off a sarcastic response to a question they don't deem to be worthy of discussion. And it pays..so I see why people do it. I swear there are people who hit refresh looking for a new topic to emerge so they can deliver a clever retort and reap the benefits of points from their peers. To me..I see a topic like this, I clearly know what the OP is asking, if I'm not interested or I know there is nothing new on him, I don't CLICK ON THE FUCKING THREAD. Doesn't seem hard to me, but then again going out of my way to put someone else down and make them feel dumb has never been part of my M.O. We're all fans here, I think some need to drop the holier-than thou attitude and realize that.

Shouldn't you have capitalized "don't" as well?  I mean the emphasis you placed on the rest of the phrase is in direct opposition to what you are trying to emphasize in your post...

I don't know about you, but that seemed like a strange capitalization pattern to me. Then again I go out of my way to point out grammar mistakes on posts that I think may have been scribed while the author was in a manic emotional state, in an attempt to piss them off even more.

That's my M.O.

"Don't click on the thread if you don't like the thread" seems like levelheaded advice, except that if it were taken as a full-fledged rule, it would kind of eliminate the need for moderators, wouldn't it?  Don't like the eight multiple threads on the same topic?  Don't click on 'em.  Don't like the troll threads?  Don't click on 'em.  Don't like the thread that says "Poster X Is A Moron?"  Don't click on it.  Especially if you're Poster X.  All the threads you don't like, don't click 'em.

Believe me, there are tons of threads I don't care about or am not interested in.  Rivals Staff Predictions.  Delonte Hollowell Is Now A Three-Star.  I don't click on probably three-quarters of the threads on the board.  They're not clutter and they don't pique my interest enough - maybe I think they're even silly, I just don't care.  On the other hand, "Any News??" threads are 100% obnoxious.  What would you expect to see?  Actual news?  I'll tell you again, if there's news, the people who have it aren't going to sit around waiting for someone to ask for it.  It'll get posted.  It always does.  Do you see any Kinard news in here that you couldn't find in two minutes of looking?  Did you expect any?

Even more obnoxious than new news posts are posts bitching about other people's posts and telling them how to do things on "THEIR" blog.  Oh, wait, it's not YOUR blog is it?

The OP didn't get any new info on Kinard, but he did get one hell of a thrashing for asking a question.  This is great, we just got another guy to be scared of posting anything for fear of another skewering at the hands of fellow M fans.

I clicked here to see if anyone contributed any news.  If so, great.  I like to hear new info.  If not, I'll move on and keep living my life.  I didn't once feel compelled to rip the guy apart for asking a question.  If you're a mod and think it should be removed, then go right ahead.  If not, disregard and move along.  There is no rational reason to do this and who are you to attack the guy for doing what he has every right to do?

Maybe a month ago or so Kinard said he'd know within the week if he got the test score to qualify, but we haven't heard anything since. That's probably not a good sign.

I posted something about this a while ago asking about the test score needed for a transfer admit. I feel bad now because he (TK) never asked for his test score to be posted on the internet.

I really hope he gets in because I think he is a really great kid and has a goal and that is getting to Michigan. I am not sure if that is in the cards or not for the kid. I think those are his questions to answer (test scores, admittance) when he feels he wants the info. out there (if ever). As of right now I would not expect him in the class, though, if you want my input.

After what happened to Dorsey, I would think his transfer would have to be approved by the admissions department before anything was announced publicly.

Kinard committed to Michigan at the Wolverines’ junior recruiting day last spring, and never seriously entertained offers from Penn State, Illinois, Michigan State and others.

“Michigan State was on it to the fullest,” Kinard said. “They would not give up. They would call me on my cell phone and be like, ‘Hey, are you going to come down here to visit? It’s only like a half-hour more away, 50-something miles away from Michigan.’ And it was just like, ‘Give it up. I’m not going to y’all’s school.’

This doesn't answer your question on "anything new," but it does indicate where Antonio's interest lies, and in this particular case, the opposite also. Thought this particular comment was entertaining.

Sorry 'bout your luck here.  I too thirst for knowledge of all things Michigan.  As you can see from my points, I have also said the wrong thing before and was thrashed and negged thouroughly by the torch and pitchfork crew around these parts.  I feel for you.  It's a shame that b/c you don't have the time or patience to comb through every single post on the blog, you get lambasted for asking a question that's on your mind.  Honestly, those who don't think this post is worthy of their time, don't read it.  Someone who apparently doesn't LIVE for this blog was asking the help of his fellow M fans and was attacked for his audacity in looking for an answer to his question.

As for the torch and pitchfork crowd, maybe someone does have some information who is not an insider or master moderator.  Also, maybe b/c of the way people are attacked they felt unsure about posting it for fear of the hunters.  Give people a break, they're just fans like the rest of us.  It's not like you're required to read the post.  You just feel required and entitled to tear the poster down b/c you don't like it.

Nobody is going to be "lambasted" for starting a board post with real information. However, we are trying to keep the "Mlive creep" from invading this board. Thanks for your understanding.

software enhancement in place that recognizes when a member fo the tar and feather crew goes bipolar and quarantines them until they come to their senses and can be civil.  These guys probably also frequent Scout.
