Angelique S. Chengelis / The Detroit News Dave Brandon, the chairman and CEO of Domino's Pizza and a former Michigan football player and university Regent, will be named Michigan's new athletic director and is expected to be introduced to the department staff Tuesday morning, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation. Brandon, 57, has deep ties to the university and also to Michigan business and politics and has long been considered the front-runner to replace athletic director Bill Martin.

Per Wikipedia Apparently he is an active hands-on manager and keeps a blog accessible to his underlings: "David keeps a blog, titled "Dave's Blog," which is accessible only to Domino's Pizza franchisees and corporate store managers. In his blog he talks about topics, like his personal unannounced visits to stores and the price of cheese." Some like sailing, some the price of cheese.

Tom Monaghan bought the Detroit Tigers in 1983. In 1984 the Tigers won the World Series. That should give those touting a National Championship in 2011 something to tout about. Unfortunately, the World Series victory wasn't repeated. We should expect a new Athletic Director from the Little Caesar's camp in 2019. The appointment should also provide blogfodder regarding covert Knights of Malta connections.

Bo talked very highly of Brandon's work ethic in his last book and had high praise for him. IMO I would think that a "Michigan Man" will be running this team before too long.....can anyone say Mr. Harbaugh?

I'm sure Brandon will give RR at least a few more season to turn this team around. In some respect RR personality is more like that of Bo's than LC was. Brandon and RR may turnout to make a good team much like Don and Bo!
