Later in the series it becomes clear that Pep calls the passing plays while Drevno calls the running plays. It made me wonder if having the passing and running games totally split like that led to some kind of incoherence in the offense overall.
I actually feel a lot better about Pep remaining on our staff after watching the first 3 episodes.
Anybody who accuses UM of not taking the MSU game seriously needs to watch this series.
Hilarious!
I'll definitely get through all 8 over the next 3-4 days...
Which program around the country is the first to copy this idea?
Same with Florida State the year we played in the Orange Bowl. Actually watched all of that and found it super interesting. You could see the confidence in their defense grow after they got torched by Louisville.
I feel bad for the coaches. Both QBs were frustatingly bad in that game (as well as pretty much the whole offense minus the RBs), and obviously were all year long. You can only do so much when the QB play stinks and I can imagine how this must have been draining for the coaches to try and game plan around. JOK seemed great in practice and seems like a good leader, but just didn't have the game performances to match.
Don Brown is crazy! I love how he didn't change or sugar coat anything for the cameras. One my coworkes that I teach with played football for him when Brown was at Plymouth State and he said he was completely nuts. I believe this. But, he's a great coach and is very direct and clear and demands a lot from his players.
I love Harbaugh, but I wonder how much his players like playing for him. He is unique for sure. I hope other QBs recruits don't watch this and come away thinking I don't want to play QB for UM. Hopefully they will highlight some good moments later in the season between Harbaugh and the QBs.
Just seems like he had the physical tools, he just didn't have the mental makeup required to play the position in a high pressure situation as it is at UM. I felt bad for him though. He never lied or pretended he was doing better than he was nor blamed anyone else. He maintained a positive attitude and supported his teammates and still was a good leader even when he was struggling personally, which is really hard to do. He said it was his fault and he felt terrible. He seems like a good guy.
The off the field stuff is great. On the field, lots of finger pointing when something goes wrong.
Pep questioned Harbaugh on the handoff to McKeon in the Bowl game. Said he wasn't feeling it, Harbaugh asked why and then ran it anyway.
Really coo stuff and gives you an idea of how intense things are inside the program. Rashan Gary wants to win more than any player on the team. He was devastated after losses.
was just as great as I remembered! Don Brown needs his own show.
through 4 episodes couple things have stood out to me.
1. QB play was worse than we even thought.. "no kill on this play" what does WS do? "kill, kill!"
2. Editing does a whole lot but Pep looks to have command of the offense (definitely NOT Drevno)
3. Don Brown can swear up a storm!!!
Lets go Blue!
They did this series for the AZ Cardinals a couple years ago and i watched it then and it was awesome. Can't wait to watch this one!
Quick question - is there strong language at all? like f-bombs or alot of S And D ya know? Just wondering if it's appropriate for my young children to watch with me! Thanks in advance!
Makes me miss high school ball like crazy.
I have prime and can access all other shows but for some reason only Episode 0 shows up when I try to view it. Im in Canada so I'm not sure if that makes a difference?
I watched the first four episodes. The series gives you insight into the players that you otherwise never see. You realize that these are young kids with the problems that all college students have when they leave home. The interactions between the players and their families was very cool to observe, including some of the raw emotion that comes through.
I've watched up to the prep for the State game. I turned it off, knowing it will ruin my night of sleep if I watch that horror show just before bed.
finished the series. honestly think the qbs were a failure but the oline gets alot of the blame too brandon peters was playing solid but you cant expect a qb let alone a first year starter take hit after hit. if the oline is good this year the offense will be 10x better
His daughter is a li'l cutie pie. Having her in his life must keep him grounded. I'm surprised that none of the profiles I had read about him before mentioned her, though.
I'm also surprised that they moved to Shelby Township. I liked what his mom said about giving him space, but Shelby Township seems a bit out of the way. Maybe it was for her job--it sounds here like she has a good one: http://mgoblue.com/news/2017/10/31/football-kornacki-life-comes-full-circle-for-hard-working-higdon.aspx
