first entry in the diaries...but Denard: O POY is a great achievement for the young man congrats to him. Glad he is such a humble man
November 29th, 2010 at 8:40 PM ^
Hopefully, this will get him some more NFL notice. He really turned it around after prior years. Congrats Jonas!
November 29th, 2010 at 8:43 PM ^
This makes me feel so bittersweet. Congrats to Jonas for getting second team Big Ten, but it makes me sad that he wasn't able to play in a real scheme his whole career. If he was on a good defense, I feel like he'd be a terror. Granted, the UFR usually shows him making his share of bonehead mistakes, but I attribute some of that to 3 different DCs and position coaches during his time at UM. I think he'll have a nice NFL career. Definitely got the physique for it.

Right as I posted it...Mods, feel free to pick which one is more betterest.

stern....stern but fair

this is Media.

Edwin Baker? Were there really no other big time backs in the conference this year?
November 29th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
Baker was the 2nd leading rusher among RB's in the Big 10 this season and averaged 6.1 ypc. I don't think it's unreasonable for him to be on the first team with LeShoure.
My beef is with 3 OSU offensive linemen on the 1st team. WTF!?!? OSU's running game was only the 3rd best in the Big 10 in total yards and ypc while Pryor was sacked 19 times (tied for 2nd highest among Big 10 QB's) even though he is damn near impossible to tackle. How does that merit having 3 guys on the first team?
Cameron Heyward on the first team? Really?!?!? He wasn't even the best DE on his team.
November 29th, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Really? How does Dan Conroy make it over Seth Broekhuezin or Brandon Gibbons as kicker? This is absolutely ridiculous! Give respect where the respect is due!
November 29th, 2010 at 8:52 PM ^
Congrats to Kovacs as well. I miss that earlier!
November 29th, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
i'm surprised broekhuizen didn't make it..
oh wait.
November 29th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
the all-big ten team sure speaks volumns about the level of Michigan's talent doesn't it.
By the coaches, Iowa had 10 first and 2nd teamers, Michigan 2. Both teams finished 7-5, who got more bang for thier buck?
November 29th, 2010 at 9:11 PM ^
UM had 4 guys on the 2 deep.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
MSU players. Good year for them.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:20 PM ^
The offensive line votes are a joke. Ohio State really doesn't have that great a line.
November 30th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
I'd be happy if the All Big 10 offensive line was just the Wisconsin O Line. Man, they are damn good.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:23 PM ^
I plus oned you just cause you did not post on Jimmy Hairball
November 29th, 2010 at 9:52 PM ^
sweet of you.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
so here it is:
Jim Harbaugh
November 29th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
Big 10 coach of te year right? oh wait...
that's NEXT YEAR! ohhh yea baby
November 29th, 2010 at 9:35 PM ^
Someone had to mention him.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
Interesting that Denard won POY for the coaches, yet wasn't the 1st or 2nd team All-BT QB.
November 29th, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
even second-team All B10.
November 29th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
Ironic, given that this was by far his best season as a passer statistically. If he continues to progress, he might even have a chance to be a mediocre NFL QB...maybe, but not likely.
November 29th, 2010 at 10:10 PM ^
all big10 list to compare...im just curious
November 29th, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
a comparison between Phil Steele's preseason 1st team and the postseason 1st teams of the media and the coaches, but then I closed my browser.

Not the third, maybe the fourth best QB in the conference. Yet he will still get Heisman votes.
November 29th, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
Maybe I took a stupid pill this morning, but how is Denard (correctly) recognized as the best offensive player in the Big Ten, but is not one of the top two quarterbacks according to the media? Because they don't consider him a traditional "quarterback"?
November 29th, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
At least according to the big ten's press release.

November 29th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Is that guy the most overrated big back in the history of Wisky big backs or what?! If he wasn't the returning POY (shocker in it's own right) I wonder if he's even the back up. The other two backs tore us, and the rest of the league, to shreds.
November 29th, 2010 at 11:25 PM ^
How the hell is Johnny Adams anywhere on these lists?
The # of MSU DB's is . . . perplexing, at least.
November 29th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Does anyone else think this guy is on roids... how do you go from a Tight End at a MAC school to an all big ten defensive end???
November 30th, 2010 at 7:27 AM ^
People that spend part of the season in JAIL shouldn't be voted to an all-Big Ten team. Leave that crap for the SEC. How good of a job can you do on the football field when you are behind a jail cell?
November 30th, 2010 at 8:07 AM ^
That guy plays hard on a team which does not provide him with very much help. Kudos to him and Ebert for making the best of a not very good situation.
