The funny thing about it. He was never ours to win or lose. He's been committed to Bama for over a year. Sam Webb trolled our fan base to sell more Scout.com subscriptions with his bullshit insider analysis that never amounted to anything. Now he's doing the same thing with Solomon. He's telling his listeners that's there is a good chance he coming to U of M! It's all click bait. It's always been click bait.

He was committed to Bama for over a year, yes, all world win everything Bama. The fact that his recruitment came down to the end like this is ALL the evidence rational people need to know UM WAS in this race. I wish we got him too but we came in 2nd place - it is what it is friggin is man. Stop scapegoating Sam Webb to conform your reactive bias.

All I know is any time a recruit mentions the academics being a huge factor it has been nothing but a bunch of bullshit.

It's what they're expected to say so they say it. They rarely mean it. If it were close to the factor that a number of players say it is then nw, cal, Stanford, [insert ivies] would be top programs. But they're not. To be honest, most of these kids haven't been challenged academically like ever. They wouldn't know a middle school from an ivy.

I watched the All-American game and this dude is weird ... what was the prancing around in the pregame? He looked like a girl at the prom - the announcer called it his "peacock". What the F is that? It ws a very strange look for a football guy. Good luck to him, but this dude is one giant potential head-case which is either indicating he is going to be all-world or flames out back to Momma in Oakland.

I really wanted this kid to be in AA just as much as everyone else did. He decided on Bama and that is okay for him.

We need OLineman. Glad we got Filiaga but we need more talent on that front. Drevno better coach these kids up this spring/summer.

For all concerned with our OL... Newsome won't be back next year, he suffered a career ending injury. It was really bad. Heartbreaking... So much potential. God bless Newsome and Go Blue!

That exactly hasn't been confirmed yet. Few reports recently where it is possible he might still be ready by the fall. While I don't believe it necessarily, that at least shows that it's not definite that his career is over.

hard to come up with a version that doesn't involve him doing some trolling of some form of UM. I don't wish him bad luck, but I wish that dude nothing.

A few thoughts:

1. It sucks not landing NH, but we need great O linemen WAY more than we need a 5-star RB.

2. Just about any FBS-level running back can be a "stud" behind a great OL.  Heck, Evans or Higdon could easily be that guy.  Or even Walker for that matter.  See note 1.

3. I am a huge Clemson fan tonight.  But only for tonight.

4. Fuck Alabama.

Najee was torn between Alabama and Michigan.

His parents really liked Michigan and were urging him to flip and he seriously considered it...on his own and in his own time.

Fans and recruitniks created a circus out of it for their own purposes. He stuck to his guns and decided.

In the end, he took a final look at the current run game situation at M and the OL situation for the next few years and decided that the football part of the decision was more important.

Quite simply, Alabama has a much higher likelihood of helping him put up massive stats over the next few years.

I can't fault him for making that decision and wish him the best of luck in everything at Alabama, except of course if they play M.
