Albert Breer thinks Greg Schiano will be the hire

Submitted by RIP Tractor T on

In a guest spot on the Gresh & Zo program on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, the NFL network's Albert Breer projected that Greg Schiano will be the next Michigan head coach. He indicated that Schiano had been offered the job back in 2007, which he declined at first, but later tried to pursue, at which point Michigan had already proceeded too far with Rich-Rod.

Now, I know Breer is an NFL reporter and an admitted (unabashed) OSU supporter, but the suggestion that Schiano may be the next guy made me almost lose my lunch. Figured I'd see what everyone else thinks...

I've posted this before, but it bears repeating that a reputable source I know indicated that Schiano is lobbying for the job behind the scenes. This does not mean we should want him, but this approach seemed to work for the last guy. There is definitely something to this rumor.

My head will explode if they hire Schiano! Why would they even consider hiring a guy who had a mediocre program at Rutgers in a weak conference and completely bombed in the NFL! This is not a time to be screwing around, go get Harbaugh and pay the man!

I am to the point where I think the NFL media types are the most worthless sources when dealing with the NCAA as they can never see anything beyond the professional league snobbish attitude. Bad NFL coach would be great in college because he cashed checks in the League
