#8 Field Hockey beats OSU for the 6th straight time

Defense wins championships. And #8 Michigan (7-1, 2-0 B1G) has an elite one.

Of Michigan's 7 wins, FIVE of them were of the shutout variety. That includes shutting out the #1 team in the nation in the season opener.

OSU is not very good, but they usually play us tough. No difference tonight in that or the result. Michigan beat OSU for the 6th straight time to bump the lead in the all-time series to double-digits (36-26-2).

The freshman Fay Keijer scored Michigan's only counted goal in the 1st half to give us the 1-0 lead.

The Wolverines would score on a penalty corner in the 2nd half but it was overturned after a challenge. This gave OSU new life and they had a flurry of offensive chances in the final 20 minutes after they failed to register a single shot in the 1st half.

Michigan hung on with great defense displayed in every game.

Michigan is now 7-1 and 2-0 in the B1G. We'll play #4 PSU at home on Sunday.

First off, congrats to the field hockey team. Michigan beating OSU in ANY sport is a good thing. And beating them six straight times is awesome.

It's just a shame that society's measure of a school's athletic worth and prowess, more often than not, is based solely on the success of the football team. Maybe basketball at some other select schools, but if we beat OSU in every other sport the whole year by 100, but lost to them in the football game, it's like none of it matters in the court of public opinion.

like soccer needs to find ways to generate more offense...I find it hard to watch a entire soccer or FH game because theres no offense...In soccer particularly once a team gets the first goal the game is pretty much over
