important than DPJ. We must have this level of talent on the OLine to compete at the highest level. In fact, our mediocre/average Oline has been one of UM's weak links in the run game. Pass protection has been decent, but we failed to establish the run consistently against too many teams. C'mon Mr. Wilson!

I don't get this.  It's not a 'one or the other' situation!  They play different positions, and are both very, very good.  There is space in the class for each of them.  Why rank one against the other when there is no earthly reason to do so?  Doesn't make sense...

It makes perfect sense to "salt away" certain strong recruits who are ready to committ & only revealing them at strategic times.

It actually reminds me how seasoned political campaigns do this with endorsements.  They pull together a huge list of them at the start of the campaign.  Sometimes it makes sens to just "shock & awe" a potential opponent by revealing all of them right away at once in the hopes that the opponent just drops out of the race before it even begins. But sometimes--particularly in a multi-candidate field--it makes sense to deploy them more strategically.

In the recruitng parallel, there's always multiple "opponents", so strategic deployment makes sense.  Depending on the situaiton, you deploy them at different times.  Have a rough patch of news (or non-news) yourself?  Deploy 1-2 to keep stop the bleeding.  One of your opponents lock down 1-2 and are picking up some steam?  Deploy a few of your own to show you're keeping pace.  Don't need them to do either of the above?  Create a massive drumbeat at a key time by deploying a bunch in quick succession so that you "own" a particular week or two.

If Michigan is in fact doing this, it also makes sense to do it during the dead period right before Christmas.  Recruiting news will be at a low point, so each story will get more splash & attention than normal.  Then nobody will be paying attention around Christmas/New Years because everybody will be busy during the holidays.

Effectively, if Michigan is in fact orchestrating this, they're vying to essentially dominate the rest of 2016 in terms of recruiting news.  At minimum that shoud set them up to compete on even footing for the last sprint to the finish or any pushes from other schools trying to poach our own committed kids in January 2017.  And potentially, this could create some extra momentum to raise their profile & ability to flip/grab 1-2 previous dark horse candidates in January if things break their way & if other programs have recruiting setbacks (destabalizing staff departures, etc).

I agree with this, with the additional potentially-genius move of staggering the announcements every day for several days, which generates one story about the latest recruit, and another story about the "x day streak" of committments.  Two for the price of one.  As the boring portion of the bowl season approaches, there will be a lot of cable sports shows looking for football-related conversation that is more interesting than two 6-6 teams in a bowl played in Shreveport.

Smart people who understand how the media works would do it exactly this way, at exactly this time.

I wonder who is going to announce Saturday. Any guesses?

Solomon
Singleton
Slaton
Tufele
Collins
Filiaga
Gay
Harris

I think Slaton has to wait on a test. Any educated guesses on who might be ready to announce Saturday.

CMH tweeting about knowing where Wilson will commit and Wilson retweeting something about Harris ....he retweeted someone that proposed a hypothetical about "if" Harris commits Saturday, just not sure why....so my crystal ballz go both Wilson n Harris package deal to bama or michigan....GoBlue!

Now THIS is a true posbang thread.

You should never have to name it "posbang thread"...you just need to bring great news like this and let it happen organically.

HOOOOOO BOY WHAT A WEEK!!!

destined to influence those remaining targets in the home stretch.  Harbaugh is indeed a master symphony conductor.

It will be interesting to follow the Twitter chatter of these new commitments and their targets.
